Probably as Alex says Shim. Wheel Speed Sensor.

Faulty wheel speed sensor would possibly screw up gear changes in auto mode methinks - perraps the Giraffe/Gorilla/Monkey et al could confirm or correct this? Would also throw a code. I messed with the adaptions on the 325 and the lights showed along with others and the car wouldn't start, I chose wrong engine ref in Inpa and everything went tits up. An ECU reset sorted it. |

Happened to mine few years ago and a tin of this stuff helped cured the problem. |
Yep mine is also doing this. Waiting for it to become a bit more frequent before I address the issue.

DSC-ABS 005E20 trouble
Hi Guys, I just get the problem today. Both indicators in orange.
Here are my extract from Rheingold (I hope you are speaking French :)): http://www.zupimages.net/up/15/33/0e3b.jpg I guess also that piece n°2 is concerned ? http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...90&hg=34&fg=25 Any other options than change it ? |
Hi again. I hope to not disturb regarding the many answers received
I still have the same trouble but now it is permanently. I would like to order both captors 34 52 1 164 458 but I have an huge problem with access. So my question is for the ones who already changed these parts : How can you acceed ????? It is extremely tight and I do not understand how to do to unscrew both captors. Thanks  |

Bit of cloth underneath to catch the brake fluid, and if you have something to wedge between the seat and the brake pedal, it creates a bit of a vacuum and stops loads of fluid coming out. The pedal needs to be pressed about 10cm at most. Once loose, sqeeze your hand down between the partition and the brake pipes, unscrew and insert the new ones. I've got small hands so I find this job relatively easy :hahaha: Then you will need to bleed the brakes, obviously! Hope that helps:) |
Thanks for your reply. I think I will wait for the reception of my 2 sensors ordered this morning and do both operation in the meantime with a specialist. I am not confident enough to do it by myself.

It should be this price yes (around 140€). But I took the risk to order these ones :
http://www.ebay.fr/itm/281946081869?...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT OEM BMW, NEW, but without packaging. Extreme cheap price. Top seller, very good critical. Price just decreased on this reference. We will see. I ordered 2. I will ask to my own garage to change the fluide and do the operation in the meantime. |

If anyone ever needs a wheel speed sensor, the ATE one from Eurocarparts is just the BMW one with the BMW markings and part number rubbed off... For £50 cheaper.
