It has been chaos out here, with all manner of exotica being strewn across the track including an original gt40....
however even the broom still has all 4 wheels on it and is going well:beer: see you in the morning:smt055 |
I'm sitting in Stansted departures with 20 Team Lotus techies all around me trying to talk to me and pick my brains, but I'm letting no trade secrets out! ;)

Just popped back to the hotel to download pics. Not on track today, but out with the camera, got a lot of CSL ones. Will post up a link when i've compressed them a bit. (not now, later!)
Here's a quick one; http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y20...ulyDay1334.jpg |

Weather looks it's usual changeable conditions, judging by the pic ..
Wish I was out there regardless :smt090 |
Yep, pretty changeable, rain showers then sun. Session closed early due to the level of barrier damage today.
Don't believe any CSL's were harmed though *touch wood* |

Did the hotel thing get all sorted ? Was playing golf / society thing for three days, so no phones allowed ( far too serious for my liking ) :hahaha: |
So where were the danger spots in the wet weather? I kept my eye on the Nurburgring camera today and believe I saw two new blue XKR-S parked on the track side of the chain link fence towards the end of the afternoon. Were they in the mix too?
I was offered the chance to fill a gap on Tuesday but declined due to the rush it would have been to get there all for just a day in 'changeable' weather. Pip |

weather is actually good, a brief shower at lunch but the track was shut anyway, and by the time I'd queued for lunch it was dry and open again:beer: Quote:
I was woken up by the gumpert boys cracking up one of there 3 cars outside my window at 6am this morning - better than birdsong anyday of the week! http://i453.photobucket.com/albums/q...s/photo-36.jpg |
Is bad weather stopping play again. It looked nice this morning/lunchtime.

I left about 11am and popped to the fence at Flugplatz and Brunschenenenene and the weather was absolutely gorgeous, Alex and Titan out and Northern Monkey Jim blagging as many passengers and drive rides as he could.
Not sure about after I left though |
Them jags are slow:whistle:, I duffed them up in Duncs CSL.
Had a great weekend, absolutely love the place. Special thanks to firstly Jim, for teaching me quite a bit. And special thanks to Duncan for teaching me quite a bit more, and for letting me learn in your car. One awesomely set-up car, its perfect and just inspired so much confidence. Me and Duncan had a good few fast-ish laps together, him following me with camera recording, great great fun. Ill post some vids up tomorrow, im off to bed now, I am absolutely fucked. |

Spill the beans then Glendog74. You cannot go making spurious comments like that without hard facts...... or beliveable rumour . Pip |

Yep it was a proper mess, three wheels pointing the wrong way and the inside looked like a pillow showroom. About a hundred yards of debris but no one hurt. (although it did ruin my flying lap with Dunc :banghead: , although Duncan's commentary after the red flag just after the old pits was very useful!) That closed the track and then it started to rain hard just before it re-opened, so most people called it a day. Excellent weekend and good to meet a few more people and see some faces again! Will sort my photos out when i get home and get the link up. |

Glad you had a good'en and kept it shiny side up  |
Just got back and absolutely exhausted. Another quick run back, but quite why there are always queues at the French side of the tunnel is beyond me. At least it gave me plenty of time to admire Titan's new toy on its trailer!
Here's some links to the photos i took on Monday. I've shrunk them down, so they shouldn't take too long to load. As i said to those of you i managed to meet, if you want any, just let me know and i'll email you the hi-res version. (btw, i've not had the camera long and this was my first attempt at taking photos at a track, so they're a bit rough, but managed to get some advice from Jochen after a few beers on Tuesday night, so looking forward to the next trip!) It was the guy driving the Italian car in the first photo with his arm up. Just as we got up there, the session was red flagged as an alfa had punted the barrier. Whilst we waited for the session to restart, i tried some Macro photography for the first time... http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y20...ulyDay1028.jpg :hahaha::hahaha: |

Perhaps I should have taken your offer after all. It is just that it is a long way to go for just one day's driving and I think I would have struggled with accommodation. Possibly look at Touristfahrt at the end of the month if I am still around. Were most running on Cups - CSLs can carry both but Porsche have to commit. Pip |
Great trip chaps. Had much fun on and off track.:beer: Sorry for late reply. Been hard at work since back.:bigcry:
Have a few vids on vbox so will put one or two up as soon as I figure out how.;) Can't wait to get back, August I hope. Dunc, thanks for dinner in Comfy Corner. That was a great night with the Team Lotus boys. I owe you and the boy dinner next time. Jim................get a CSL. NOW.;) |

Yep what a great few days. Nice to catch up with Dunc, Adam, Jim and Nick Johnson again and great to meet Shane and the crew, Alex, Kev, Craig, Grant and Johny. (along with a load of RS nuts from my Ford days as well)
Was a bit of a treck only getting in the door Thursday around 15:30 so been playing catch up since. Car is all cleaned and put back to normal with it's road wheels on but has received a couple of battle scars. Lots of quite big chips out the paint and the dog got over excited when i got home and ran into the feckin door so that has a pretty big dent in it now :banghead: :hahaha: Front wheels are needing stripped and re painted due to smoke damage, guess i over cooked the brakes a little  Have some car park pics and plenty of vids from my near on 30 laps of the couple of days so will get them uploaded soon. The vbox vids seem to take an age to upload to youtube so will try from the office on monday and see if thats any quicker. Only gripe of the whole trip was my warning light issue but I managed to work round that for the trip. Never done it on the road, only on track. All in all a great few days of petrol fuelled fun and banter  roll on the next time :smokin: |
Cheers for the Laps Paul:beer: great driving by the way, very smooth indeed:thumbs::thumbs:
