Depends what the mods are. But basically those items that are no longer BMW are not covered by the warranty.
But I suspect what you are really asking is do BMW honour the warranty if the car has any modifications? Providing the modifications do not directly contribute to the failure, then in my experience it is not an issue. |
Yes, BMW very grown-up about mods for these cars. I think they understand that what is done is an improvement / to help enjoy the car rather than to save a few pence. And... you will bring it back for a service too!
Conversely, Land Rover are a complete bunch of C**NTS. It seems if you don't have a LR air freshener they will use it as valid reason not to do warranty work. Also, if the car isn't serviced by them you will find that getting a repair even with their official warranty product is all but impossible. It is all about getting you in your next Land Rover and I'd argue the CSL has as much offroad capability when it comes to the Evoque and Velar etc.. The Defender, Discovery 3&4 were / are 'proper' (when they work and not snapping cranks :whistle:). Kindest, J. |
