What would we call a serious offer on one of these?

Alot! - too much to use it with your key(s). I think it's wiser, if you're lucky enough to have one (and I don't) just to keep it in the box.

Getting it out occasionally just to admire it.

And then putting it back in it's box.

Wait a minute, that reminds me of my CSL car!

OK lets get the ball rolling £10 :wav:

How much did the one sell for at the auction, won by the birthday boy?

Offers well over that!!!

That'll be 50 times that rolling ball offer! Although I seem to recall a pint and a few free vodkas were included too ;)

(All for a great cause )

Across the pond - what they lack in Cars, it would appear that they have more than made up for in Keyrings: http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showt...412413&page=36.
The auction one fetched some 'ridiculous' figure, but it was for charity (added incentive), bought I think by LeinsCSL. :119: (He beat me to it!)
So you need to add at least another zero to the bid already placed

Nice....... Was having a look through my car stuff the other day & came across one of these & a carbon fibre blanking plate for the radio.

Not a bad result I guess!

I understand that they were only available when the cars were purchased new from the dealers, some were given to customers when they collected their cars as a token.

Some dealer sold them as an exclusive accessory, but from other bits I've come across they were supposed to have been issued in the same way the plaque was, one per car.

Very occasionally they come up on ebay, but I haven't seen one in years in the UK anyway, and they go for ridiculous money £250 (for a keyring?)

I've got pretty much everything: original order, sales invoice, press pack, launch photographs, sales brochures, Dealer 1:18 model, etc. but no keyring.
It's probably the sort of thing that a first owner might retain as a keepsake/memento, and not pass on.

I think 'Roland' has one, picture occasionally featured in random images.

Good luck with your search - I've given up looking.

Did the original order and sales invoice come with the service history of your M3 CSL or did u have to chase from BMW Dealers ????

I have 1:18 Auto Art (not BMW Dealer)
Sales Brochure
Poster
I think I have launch photographs
I think I have BMW UK Press Pack

The 1:18 Dealer models and M3 CSL bag got given with brand new M3 CSL
