Csl

The balance owed is £9000, I presume the salvage company are yet to pay the insurance company, hence why I'm out of pocket.
The broker assures me its in hand, and to be fair I've not been chasing it.

The rear suspension is fine, its just tripoding because the upright is shoved back and the car weight is front biased. Being dragged on and off a lorry probably hasnt helped either!

The airbox brackets are broken and the assesor was at £15000 in bits on his estimate when it was decided to write it off.

If I were a shrewd businessman with some cash, I'd buy it and strip it.

But I've just bought HKSjon's saphire black csl. Lovely chap, many thanks.

Welcome back, look forward to some photos of this latest yoke! ;-)

Good god those Yanks must have money to burn! £1K including postage to the States for an OEM Diffuser and it sold.

The car is easy repair. Just looks bad. Wish it was LHD I would have bought it in a heartbeat :)

True as in the UK the VAT and the Labor will kill you :)

azrael 03-05-2011 12:26 PM

I would assume that it will be recorded at some point as it seems to be going through official channels?

Prices all fixed could vary from £16-22k so it could be a nicer earner or money pit depending on the damage beneath.

I'm no expert but can't be worth anymore than £11k - prob better to strip and sell the parts

Air box £3k
Engine and loom £3k
Seats £2k
Rims £500
Interior £3k
£11.5 already with some easy labour.

Exhaust £500-£1200 (depending on Supersprint parts)
Diff £200-300?
Survived suspension and brake parts? £500
CF roof? £500
That's not counting the glass, doors and other panels.

There's another £3K! Would be a waste to break an unregistered car though.

A good idea

Right, so that this car gets dealt with in a sympathetic manner and by experts in their field, and possibly to the benefit of some members on here, why dont we do a group buy ? Keeping it short he is plan.
1. Group buy car, I can collect it on my trailer, meet up with the rest of the shareholders and go for a beer .
2. Organise a working party BBQ and pissup  and break it at mine if all agreeable, I have the space, tools, air, power, fork trucks, transport etc. and im a Freemason and can be trusted not to nick any good bits !:hahaha:.
3. If we dont complete in a week-end, organise another working party and BBQ Pissup  for those who couldnt make the first one.
4. By agreement/vote come up with a price list in excel for all salvaged parts, and even the savaged ones !... stop for a beer .
5. Offer parts to CSLR members only, in the event of more than one member wanting a part, sealed bid, highest gets it. Beers on the winner .
6. Any parts left over offer to the US market first !!! with our thanks for getting Bin Laden... ;):hahaha:.
7. Any parts left over post on M3Cutters ... our poor cousins ;). Beer on them !.
8. With the proceeds organise a CSLR run in at some trackday to be agreed, followed by .. you got it .. a BBQ and beers..
9. After a divi up of the proceeds, anyone who would rather take cash than do the run in can have it, only fair.Beers on them though :gayfight::beer:.

This is one of my serious posts !!! ... you can but imagine the others !

PS Any of you guys who already think you would want some parts, let it be known, as If it can be seen that a few of you/us can benefit, it might actually be worth doing sooner rather than later !

TANKSLAPPER 03-05-2011 04:57 PM

It still might be if they end up putting a private plate on it and repair it themselves and sell for £28k (or keep it for 3 years and don't drive it)
