N came in after the September production shutdown in 2003. So all M3s pre this were 0, then after this date they were N. Same with the dash display.

I thought it was a general SMG update as it also took the letters SMG off the gear stick housing.

What I don't understand is why yours is different, I though all CSL's were the same. Mine is an early one also.

0= 86 UK spec including pre-production.
N = 344 UK spec.
