i soent a few years on track mainly with 996 gt3 and gt3rs.

Rs are very capable cars, and true track weapons. But even in road spec they are a bit uncomfortable to drive on road and upgraded to full on track weapons they can become even harsher

tbh id have one of these above any supercar

No Pete, the used Lotus garage was near the Foxton Railway Station/crossing on the A10. This place with the GT3 RSs : http://www.cambridgemotorcompany.co.uk/stock-list.html is relatively new and it's a bit further down the A10, heading South towards Melbourne, just before the first exit off the A10. They are linked to "AUTOSTORE" car storage place which is literarily up the road from me in Newton.

Cheers. Thanks for replying. I do like looking in at the nearby porker & Aston dealers nearby.

Difficult for me to ignore these two as I live around the corner from both OPC Cambridge & Lancaster Cambridge Aston Martin  and drive past them almost every day. It's a right old pain in the neck ;)

But we have our cesils.:smt055

The Porker garage has kindly sent me to the experience centre and let me drive a Cayman locally. Very nice, but it's no cesil. I think it's just too civilised. The GT4 may correct that, but where do I put the golf clubs and I would have to raid the piggy bank

nice to see both colours together. the white/blue combo is far rarer than even the white red combo. about 4 times more many red/white ones

its the one car I would love to own and regret not buying a few years back and not financing.

sadly I don't have an RS and just a normal 996 GT3 but its half way there

good mate of mine has a standard unmolested mid 20s mileage white/blue one which I have driven across Europe and around the ring. absolute pleasure to drive and treasured memories. its a proper one too so no AC and radio. he paid £65k for it back in early 2005. god knows what its worth now

fcuking awful in the summer heat in the alps when not moving:

having driven and owned both Cesil and GT3 & RS, I have to say you are REALLY splitting hairs when it comes to what is better. In short they are both epic cars and VERY VERY different to drive and handling characteristics.

as a daily and point to point the Cesil wins. its just a massive giggle and you can take liberties. when I got the GT3 I had to re program the way I drove and it took more thinking about , especially when nearing the limit. the laws of physics always outweigh talent!!

sadly the RS has become too valuable to really drive hard and you just don't see them at track days or the ring now as a result.

the market for the GT3 has gone bonkers too but I plan to use mine still lots. that is what it was built for!

the more the GT3 markets goes north the more the CSL market will follow as they are the same age of cars and always closely compared so good news all round.
