Just renewing my e90 M3 warranty and noticed this.

Guess CSL Register number plates are now compulsory for anyone taking their CSL on track and expecting to have warranty work done...

Latest pastime for insurance investigators is apparently trackday snooping, doesn't do much for claims but they get to see a lot of tracks and some nice motors :supz:
http://www.cslregister.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9886 Better being safe than sorry, with a set of kk's plates it's too late when they refuse:bigcry:

BMW will be delighted at the May event, good chance to write down chassis numbers of everyone on track

When did it change, anyone know?

In which case no number plates will appear of any of the track day photographers websites so not a problem

Not sure how you would control the 'Happy Snapper' don't forget we also have Michelin with a Camera Crew coming on the jolly jaunt, as well as the PH boys; Alex and Tom (the photographer) that's not to mention BMW's own publicity team, who will be snapping like there's no tomorrow. Bye, Bye, extended warranty claims :bigcry:

The only way of avoiding your plates being snapped is either: remove them, superimpose kk's trackday plates over them or cover them over in some other way, bin bag not the most stylish but never the less, effective.

If BMW really want to find out who tracks their M3 CSL and who doesn't they can. Is not hard. Also the presence of all the photographers and BMW on the trip they will be there. And u cannot drive on the roads with illegal number plates clearly.

Sure this wasn't the case back in 2005/2006 but may be wrong.

Tbh I think BMW should cover track days. However, the risk of something going wrong is higher so they should really charge for this extra risk. As long as the premiums are commensurate with the degree of risk involved is cool. Btw they underwrite the risk via "age" "mileage" and "service history".

At claim date is natural for them to do claim underwriting so check policy details are correct and claim is genuine.

Naturally policyholders want premiums as cheap as possible.

Good , my car or myself do not do organised trackdays, im quite happy to do some parade laps around salzburgring in May behind the speed of the pace car of NEIL M so BMW can get some press pics, also if BMW want to do some filming im quite happy to have the SPORT button on TRACTION off M SPORT on and set the GEARBOX in its high mode , i hope this clears this matter of the warranty
