Dates For CSL ring trip 2

Need to decide on dates ... thinking July as people wanted it later in the year , but suggest we have a vote on June / July then we can look at the dates in detail, that month and see if we can get something in that suits as many that want to go etc ..

Makes sense to book the shuttle or ferries ourselves saves hassle , I can get a group booking reserved in the hotel once we have exact numbers.

Prob make sense to take a £50 deposit of peeps , and I will sort on my CC if everyone is happy , or we can just book those on our own if people prefer ..

Im Happy either way , if its July i means I can still do le mans poss too

Right looks like July is Fav , and the dates are out now , so here is July listed below :

Only 3 days its open ALL day through July , Sunday's : 5th , 19th , 26th, the 26th is not so good as its not open at all on the 25th , and 27th is only 17.15 - 19.30, so its looking like the two weekends we need to decide upon are 5th or 19th , as all mid weeks are rubbish times , only open a couple hours in the eve etc :

Suggesting two night stay :

Either go out Friday 3rd , get there for Mid PM track opens friday eve 17.15 for a few cheeky laps , Sat 4th open from 13.30 so a good afternoon worth of ring time , open all day sunday 5th- 08.00 - 19.30 so could plan a late crossing back sunday , say 8/9 ish its 4.5 hours from ring to calais so would not need to leave till 4 ish ? on the Sunday ?

Or go out on the Sat 4th rather than Friday , and head back monday , rather than Sunday , so get a full day on Sunday and steak in the eve and head back Monday at leisure ?

We will only miss two hours friday eve, If we leave early Sat AM , and aim to get the Ring for Mid-Day its open from 13.30 - 17.30 , so a good session , then open all day sunday (Happy Days) and then we max sunday and have an eve together on the beers discussing the days activities !!
Travel back Monday -- actually could look to drop in on Spa as we would have Monday free , if we book late'ish crossings ...

Im thinking this is the better option ... BUT what are your thoughts guys ?

Need to look to get Deffo im coming and commitment in the next week or two max , as the hotels will fill up quickly now the dates are out ..

So let me know by return who is 100% , so I can contact the hotel and get rooms reserved , and also if your 100% if your intending to bring a passenger , as the rooms will be twin's so cool if you have passenger to half the cost , no worries if not , just need to work out who is , and who is not so i can ensure we book the right amout :wink:

I am definitely go for a June trip but i am taking part in a motorbike event in Spain for 5 days during July. Hopefully this won't conflict with the July CSL trip date - if that's the one that goes ahead. :bigcry:

Drive out Saturday 4th Early doors , to get there for 13.30 opening , and return on Monday 6th Evening and potentially , stop by Spa on the drive home (need to check opening times etc for Spa)

About 30 mins... I use Norfolk Line as it's cheap due to going into Dunkirk, the ferries are a lot newer than P&O/SeaFrance, and the lanes between cars are of a decent width :thumbs:

You just buy them there - buy as many laps as you think you will need. The more you buy, the cheaper it works out per lap.

A realistic figure is around 10-15 laps per day - queues and closures permitting.

I have a Ring card. It is certainly worth considering if you think you will go there at least 3 or 4 weekends per year - 66 laps is the break-even point if i recall. I have done 40 so far this year and will be going a further 3 weekends. :whistle:

If you are there for the CSL Register weekend then I will happily take you round the track in my CSL. Then you could follow behind me in your CSL to learn the lines and braking points. There will be a few of us in the group that have been to the Ring before so i'm sure we can help! :thumbs:

glendog and ducade - thanks for the replies. There are 6/7 of us going over so unless we can muster up a couple of rooms at the tiergarten plus a couple of random beds, we will need to stop elsewhere.

The plan of action now unless we can get more space at tiergarten is to stay at the Blau Ecke in Adenau (well, some spare offsite rooms they have anyway!) on Sat night then head to the radisson in Spa for Sunday and Monday nights.

Keep me posted regarding space, if we can muster up 6 is beds then tiergarten is still on the cards, otherwise, we will all have to stay elsewhere but will still aim for dinner and drinks in the pistenklause at least on Sat night, possibly Sunday too just for food.

I need 5 beds for at least the saturday night, I would stay Sunday too if at the PK but would need 6 beds for Sunday night!

With people dropping out and spare beds being available, can I get 6 beds for those two nights?????

I don't need / want Friday night accomodation. Am only travelling there on the Saturday.

well thats me poped my ring cherry today had some great laps with rob (glendog ) i was chasing rob and daz on my first lap but they boys a quick :thumbs:
I watched the incar video i made and my first lap round the ring on Falken road tyres i done a 9:45sec lap BTG not too shabby
I shall post the video when we get home.

Done 3 laps today and 2 passanger laps so will try and be faster tomorrow :whistle:
