Just had a look at the thread on the MLR!
What do you think about that Hotel dave is that the place you will be staying? Looks a little expensive maybe?
dave1
04-01-2009, 12:46 PM
yes i agree looks way to expensive also i think it makes more sense to drive straight to the ring on sat stay there sat night sunday night drive to spa early monday am and get a hotel somewhere near just for monday night what do you think?

Sounds great
What does the £250 get you?
If you do it a different way let me know
Mark
dave1
04-01-2009, 01:24 PM
£250 is the trackday open pit lane at spa not cheap but the most awesome race circuit in the world is,nt going to be.
there are also some extra's ie garage £75 but can be shared additional driver £50 passenger £20 i think there will be photography instruction back up etc also
at the ring it is just how many laps you fancy and you pay per lap hotels there are very reasonable i stayed there last year for £40 a night

Sounds good to me Dave! Do you have a hotel in mind at the Ring and spa? How long is the drive from the ring to spa?
dave1
04-01-2009, 01:29 PM
either the place i stayed at last year £40 a night just outside of adenau or the ring house.
spa is approx 50 miles away so an hour just means not to many sherberts sunday night
just have to do a search for something in the spa area for monday night dont see it as a problem
Sounds good mate!
I thought it would have been more than 50miles but thats great!
Have a look for the hotel at Spa and jobs a dream! :smokin:

The MLR Spa trips are fantastic! i would recommend them to anyone :smokin:
Unfortunately its looking like i am not going to be on this one, i made the last 3 trips out there but this year things have changed quite alot for me - plus me and Mrs are looking to buy a new house too, so we'll see but it's looking unlikely :(
My advise would be to stay the whole trip in Germany, Spa is just over an hour away so its not so bad, the food in Belgium is dreadful, i stayed there on the first trip and wouldnt ever again :119: If need be stay the evening of the Spa day, but no longer!!! :hahaha:

thanks for that rich been undecided especially as the hotel they have chosen is expensive! straight to the ring it is then might be able to get a couple laps in on sat pm hopefully

I'm certainly very keen to do this and have just tried to book at the lancerregister. The automated booking form asks what model of Evo and registration, etc...! :smt104
I could tell a porky and put in my old Evo VI details but won't they be a bit peed off when i turn up with a load of other CSLs to crash the MLR party?
I will come along if they are happy though! :hahaha:

I just replied to you on the MLR :)
Your more than wlecome, just put CSL - theres no issues with non Evo drivers. Its usually a 50/50 split between the Evo's and the other cars.
Heres a link to the thread on MTorque - http://www.mtorque.co.uk/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=680738#Post680738
Greg the OP is the guy who organises the day for the MLR, he's our European contact if you like. Very handy too having a local around just incase you should need assistance - like i did two years ago when the engine blew on my Evo 9 :bigcry:

Hi everyone,
As there are a few CSL's booked into the MLR Spa trackday I thought I'd pop over here to say Hi :)
Although I expect we'll have a few Evos on the day, everyone is welcome and we usually see a good number of M3s & CSLs, and last year we even had sun too!! :hahaha:
Bookings can be taken over the MLR Shop but if you'd prefer to take the easy options and call us, we can take all your details on 0845 12 526237.
If you've got any questions feel free to ask, or email me darin@lancerregister.com
Cheers

No problem at all for you to tag along with us. Maybe John (Curly) may tag on as well but haven't spoken to him as yet. My mate is looking into hotels at the moment. Thinking of staying in one we've been at before, can't remember the name. I'll let you know details as soon as I know.

but i hate boats so i might just do the tunnel but will look and book this weekend once i know hotel costs etc
What is the difference between the ferry and the tunnel? Which has more driving?

What is the difference between the ferry and the tunnel? Which has more driving?
ferry has a pointy end and moves and if you die its normally slow and painful whereas the tunnel stands still and you either burn or are suffocated very quickly
tunnel price is as cheap as the ferry overnight but about double for nights or more (norfolkline dover to dunkirk)
tunnel takes about min 60-90 mins from arrical to french roads and ferry is about 3 hours

These trips are about the whole weekend, and just having a laugh with mates, and making some good friendships. At the ring you can just pay for the laps you do, and go at your own pace. At Spa, you could just come to watch/be a passenger if you don't feel comfortable doing a full proper track day.
