Not sure on cost or time but you're nearly talking the full car there. I'd budget for at least £1500 at a guess

Wow... thats the whole car!
Give me the number plate & I will get the paintwork covered for you? :-D

Just a thought Jon but wouldn't it be better to wait till after the Munich trip ;)
If you get it done now it's only going to get chipped again on the Autobahn end of May.

Make sure you invest in an armourfend or similar kit when its done, A full kit will protect all the front facing parts inc the roof

I think you're in good company Jon :) most of the Souther Cecils have that well used look :supz:
If you get it painted before the trip you'd probably stand out like some sort of a polishing perv

Where can you get these kits?? Whats the best one, Venture shield etc??
Can you do it yourself or is it just worth paying someone??

I'm in the same dilemma. Rear bumper is getting bad where it gets stone chipped. But I use the car on track so it seems almost pointless doing it. But may get it sprayed and get that Ventureshield put on

Dont do it yourself. I looked into it and spoke to a friend who runs a signage company. Asked if I bought the kit would he fit it & he wasn't keen as you get it wrong it will look awful.
Venture shield has some good reviews

TBH my rear bumper hasn't suffered but had the front done last year, bumper bonnet into wings and after a few miles and a track day it was peppered again!
IMO if you gunna spend out on paintwork the protection is a must

Colour match is the biggest problem you only have to look at old photos of the CSLs at elms on the ramps every one is a diffrent colour, think i might get a quote from bmw as it might come with warranty :-D:-D:-D

Simpson Motorsport did mine. Great quality at a good price. They also re-furbed my splitters and repaired a mark on the roof.

I have exactly he same problem, front end chipped and I don't know what to do...it is never the right time to re-paint it! I guess during the winter is the right time but then you will start a new season of TD and trips on the motorway so I decide to wait for a bit longer....
Maybe the answer is to wait until you sell it but what if you have no intention to sell it soon? I have been looking to re spray for a while now ( I hate having the car chipped) but it is never the right moment.
For people in London, I have found a great bodyshop in Wembley with very high rating from previous customers called ITAL coachwork http://www.ital-coachworks.co.uk/
They quoted me £800 for from bumper, wings and bonnet plus a stage 1 paint correction for the rest of the car.

Is that £800 all inclusive of VAT, etc ? If Yes, then that's a reasonable quote.
I also agree that the best time to get your CSL's front end refreshed is just before selling as it's a waste of money otherwise if you intend to keep on using it as they were intended :supz: Unless you're a Show & Shine type of chap :gayfight: with a Garage Queen, then get it done pronto
