Hey guys,

Will try keep it brief, I am not able to take my csl with me to aus when we move at roughly end of the year since the Australian department of transport are enforcing a restriction on caged cars, so this leaves me not able to road register it in aus

What should I do, what's a fully caged near stock csl worth? Do they sell?

*cry*

Leave the cage behind.

Take out the cage the CSL down under will be worth almost 3 times what it is worth here

They only have 20 CSLs down under

Part it out and FedEx it bit by bit to a trusted source in Aus.

Then get your spanners out when you land.

Could you not import it over there as a "competition" car?

Few months down the line look into getting it registered for the road.

I have some mates over there who are taking their cars in through a different part of Aus to where they actually are as it is eaiser. These are heavilly modified cars btw with one of them being a Grp-4 MK2 Escort with a 700bhp Cosworth motor in it.

There must be a loop hole so you can get it over with you.

It's all welded in

Always an option, but I saved this csl, be a shame to lose another, call me sentimental

New regulations setup as of 1st of nov 2012, full enforcement, 1 April 2013, so cars currently with mod plates will be fine, but since I'll be there at the end of the year, can't have more than half cage

Why don't you give 'CSLOZ' or/and 'Alvchua' or 'cantfind1' a pm, they should know the tricks of the trade and be able to put you straight on how to export/import it into Aus:thumbs:
It's not always what you know, would be 'Cobber' but who you know that can sometimes make all the difference

*sigh* and they call the UK the nanny state

Sell it and buy a std 1 to take over..??

This is currently my plan, px anyone?

This is currently my plan, px anyone?

When I was going to import my CSL to Australia I had to prove I had owned it for at least 12 months before shipping.

I am sure its still the same as I have a friend planning to do the same with a Lambo and he is counting down the days before he applies for import approval

Yeah this is correct, I've had mine since 2011, and my plan was always to take it back, and since we are leaving end of this year, I'm now pressed to get a stock one since they changed the road regulations... :(

So trying to sell and find a stockish one

Is the cage FIA certified? If it is, bring it to NZ :hahaha: You can then get a Motorsport NZ certification, exemption card and road register the car .... see we are better than the Aussies when it comes to some things

Jokes aside .... Have you tried putting the car through Western Australia. Apparently the rules are more relaxed over that side??

Haha never been to NZ heard its beautiful and some real left wing road regs, I watch mightycarmods lol

I'm sure the cage would pass fia approval but the car won't cause it has carpets throughout. Not sure about the western aus thing, it's a far way for a maybe, and aus is getting more and more anal.
