Hi guys,Brian is my name.i said I'd introduce myself here as I've just signed up.i live in cork in the south of Ireland and I just bought a 2004 sg csl with 21k miles on the clock.I'm led to believe it was the only Irish registered car from new through BMW Ireland.its standard and I traded an 03 m3 and an 03 lotus Elise 111s plus cash for it.i must say the car is mind-blowing and in absolutely mint condition.i couldn't be happier.i have done a lot of reading on this forum and can honestly say I now know what all the fuss was about! The handling, turn in,brakes, power but mostly the noise it makes are such a step up from the standard m3.i had two of those,an e36 m3 evo and an e39 m5.i loved them all(not so much the e36) but the csl is in a different league to them all.Anyway its nice to join you guys and here's to many happy miles.cheers

Leins it's nice to speak to somebody else who know Kelly's.i was delighted to deal with Jason and would highly recommend anyone to deal with them.very friendly, knowledgeable and a fellow petrolhead!it sure beats the main dealers for me anyway and will be dealing with them for any future purchases also.where are you living yourself and how many csl's are currently in Ireland do u reckon?thanks again

Hi Brian, welcome!
Another Irish CSL owner here:thumbs:
Lovely looking car and amazingly low miles. Most importantly don't let the low miles stop you from driving it as god intended:smokin:!
Current CSL's in the republic are: Me, Leins, Mkoop, Whopwhop, Niall1 and I know of atleast two others that are not on the forum. There must be close to 10 in the republic alone not including the North!

Yeah the lads in Kelly's are sound, and really know their stuff with performance cars, which is why I prefer to get it serviced with them over a dealer. Went into one main dealer (won't name & shame ;)) to pick up a litre of oil for it a couple of years ago, and was told 10W-60 wasn't for my CSL, only M-cars!
I'm based in Dublin (but a Kildare lad!), and have meet up with a few of the other CSL owners over here at various events
I'd say there are about 9-10 in the Republic, and maybe 5-6 up North at a guess, but you never know when or where one will turn up. I was at the E30 Owners meet in Athlone last summer and a lad from Portlaoise turned up in his SG CSL, but don't think he's on here
Saying that, it's a fairly small CSL world over here! I'm definitely going to the Irish Festival of Speed in Limerick in August too, so will probably bring the CSL to that, and I'd say there will be a couple of others there too

but you never know when or where one will turn up.
This is very true. There is an amazing amount of nice cars (and helicopters:hahaha:) hidden away in garages around Ireland.

Thanks guys.i appreciate the compliments.im delighted with the car being honest.i liked the low mileage aspect but won't be afraid to use it,it's too hard not to drive it!i bought a transit connect for the work commute and economy so ill only drive the csl when it's going to be fun driving.the whole buying to store as an investment would be torture I think.youre only saving it for someone else to get the enjoyment out of it but in saying that I won't be putting big miles one it either.with regards to the boot badge,it was taken off by the previous owner and I am undecided as to whether ill put it on again. I'd defo be interested in coming along to a couple of meets if they're going, plenty of banter and car talk to be had i reckon. It's also nice to see they have a decent following here in Ireland.i certainly haven't seen many around on these roads.maybe one in charleville back in the day! What do ye recommend with regards to upgrades?i like the standard set up for roa use but might go the ap route in time.theyre not cheap tho so i might keep an eye out for a secondhand set.so if anybody is selling at any point, let me know!Well thanks again for the welcome lads and I look forward to learning a lot from ye. Cheers, brian
