Hi guys,

Ive just sold my E46 M3 in favor of a winter run about, but next year i am looking at getting a CSL/E92 M3. I have been to BMW and tried the E92 and loved it, but now that I'm going to have a spare winter run about, I'm now thinking the CSL is a much more viable purchase.

Is there any CSL owners in Scotland that would be willing to have a chat about their owner ship and let me have a look at their car (an more importantly hear it), to better ascertain the options I will want when I come to buy.

I have seen a few CSLs local to me (Perth) but never in a situation where I had time for a chat.

If you do have one and are happy to meet up send me a PM or email me.

Cheers

Welcome to the register 'gingernuts'
There are a couple of CSL owners North of the border: Mark CSL, need4speed, Derek, Figas, Bryce to name a few.

No doubt they will post when they see your thread.

Tends to be a bit of a 'SB' (Sapphire Black) area up there, must be the climate :)

Yeah, my M3 is going in there to have the subframe checked before its off to its new owner. Ive not found them very helpful to be honest, MINI were great with the Mrs car, but on several occasions I've expressed interest in a new M3 and they haven't even bothered to take my details or so much as given me a brochure. So i ended up going to Edinburgh by Broxburn and they were cracking help.

I used to live in Crieff, and my parents live between Crieff and Perth so know the area well. Lovely part of the world.

The Langside road over the moor between Comrie and Braco is an absolute belter! :supz:

There are some crackin roads about there. The road off the A9 after the Tibbermore cut off has a 2-3 mile straight which is my daily route to my unit where I work on my race car when I'm back from work.

Its a fairly good place to stretch the legs on an M3 without the chance of any plod!

The Sma' Glen and the road between dunkeld and Caputh are also favourites, along with the road between Pitlochry and Kirkmichael.

You're welcome to give me a shout if you're ever around Musselburgh.

Mark, I thought Grassicks was the place to go for CSL owners up here, but sounds like you've had good experiences with Eastern. Have you had your subframe checked by them?

Any other votes for Eastern?

Elms is clearly the best place to go by the majority but its a long trek from north of the border.

Im hoping by the time Im ready to buy the house, I will have had a monumental pay rise to fund the deposit, because if the csl is anything as good and as hard to part with as my M3 then it wont be going anywhere!

Pardon - please remember where you are - these are hallowed grounds :notworthy:You'll get yourself excommunicated using language like that :hahaha:
"IF" there is no if's, ands or buts, the CSL is a completely different animal, it might share 90% of it's genes with an M3, but it's the other 10% that makes you smile, everytime you press the loud pedal
The CSL is a proper big boys toy, albeit somewhat asthmatic.:supz:
