Good luck or skill Jim. If you'd hit the grass that CS would have suddenly been lighter than the CSL

I will accept the skill compliment:) , but its just reactions really, looking at it again, my arms do ok, but I have no idea what my feet were upto! I did try to steer back away from the oncoming traffic, I just think I should have caught it:banghead:
Tbh, it made me realise that you actually need to pay a bit more attention when driving on track:hahaha::hahaha:
It rained/drizzled later on and I was amazed how much harder it is to drive than the feckus in damp stuff, it was spinning the wheels up all over the place which certainly kept me awake:gayfight:

I'd like to say that it started raining and that's why the wipers were on:whistle::hahaha:
it WAS fluid on the track, I knew about it, saw it happen, missed it the last lap, but then got it this lap:banghead::clown:
I am a little more respectful of these cars and people who can drive them now tho:notworthy:

It looks like the car was almost straight after your initial correction, with not too much lock applied- I wonder if you'd just let go of the wheel at that point if it would have self-centred ? Or am I talking bolox ?

Thats what Andy Walsh would of said on the high speed bend with one finger, it would of self centred, problem is those barriers look pretty close.

There is a little crest on exit, easy to see from trackside. I try to be really unwinding the steering as power to wide exit curb which makes sense as you don't need to move back over that far for dears leap if you take wide exit towards pit wall. Think you'll find typical Lodge spin tbh. Ask Curly haha and a few on youtube, spills or not.

Not sure I am pleased to be classed as typical Ian:( :hahaha::hahaha::hahaha: I will ask john tho to see if he is typical too:-D
but as I see it, I turned in a little too early, was on the inside kerbs applying a fair bit of power when I hadn't really got it turned enough, like you say crest on exit, on 6 yr old dogs head tyres...... inevitable:partyman:
edited to add - I was sideways down the straight after druids too later on - that 'little' crest on the exit was the cause - I don't seem to be learning do I! lolbut I caught that one... just :clown:

Aye Jim the bump on exit of druids is a right bugger if it catches you! Lodge should be walk in park after cutting your teeth on druids :-)

That was just shit driving. Missed the corner, missed the apex, not only did he pull the steering round he gave it the full beans as well. Only gonna be one ending to that story whereas at least Jim was on the right bit of the circuit and has a modicum of talent :)
Bet that instructor was mightily miffed!

nice recovery mate...
As Billy will attest, I did this at Andy Walsh day, only I mashed the throttle instead of the brake.......
I ended up in Hertfordshire !

Its all very easy to comment just looking at the video.
At first most peoples initial reaction is to lift, usually as they are applying opposite lock. The weight transfer then upsets the car massively and can cause serious consequences.
You did well to hold it mate.
In time you will learn to keep constant throttle and ride it out gradually, granted sometimes physics cannot be overturned, but the majority of the time they are saveable. You will find it will just feel natural and you will no longer panic.
I did what you did and immediately lifted, it upset the car, the car moved out onto greasy track, well you know the rest. Silly mistake by me, I am by no means the greatest drifter, but I feel I have decent car control when its not pointing the right way. But it bit me and bit hard. Combination of lots of things, overcooked tyres, new plated diff that was more aggressive than standard, cold tyres, and me being a twat.:clown:

I've done similar there. I avoided a spin, but my mate big Jim and I had a little scenic drive over the grass. It's very hard to get it into your head not to lift.

Even tho I'm a newbie to this rwd shite, I do normally keep it pinned, on the rare occasions I am reckless enough to induce it:gayfight: but this time it just snapped so fast, I just twirled like mad, and totally forgot about throttle:wanker:
I thought I did fairly shit tbh in not saving it, so thanks to everyone for saying well done ( or are you all being nice ) but it's given me a little more respect for these matters now:hahaha:

Agree with everyone. It's one of the best for action on a raceday. I have seen loads do it, spills or not, wet or dry, and they all start at same point on track so more than just a coincidence. A lot do get away going the same as Jim but others where the noble ended up. A lot of shit drivers...well obviously if you come off it's because you've made an error but some corners are less forgiving of a slight mistake for some reason. What you getting for christmas anyway shim? :-)
Good work Jim!
Tricky corner.
Ive been out on't grass there before. :)

Jim ya cheap skate get a camera mount :smokin:Like shim said it started with running that high curb, you would have been ok but it just unsettled it,then just after the apex that camber falls away and you should be taking a bit of lock off as wheels suggested, but hey ho it all goes on the CV :-D

I thought everyone had forgotten about my little trip at lodge
Yeah i'd not had the KW club sport on the car that long and decided to do a bit of knob twirrling as usual at track days you are talking while messing with the car and I had turned the compression in at the back to full hard and just forgot while chatting to wind it out to said number of clicks :bigcry:I set off out of the pit lane down to cascades and the backed itself into the bend and nearly had me off, I wasnt that worried because there had been a fluid spill in the morning there, luckily I had got held up in most corners til druids and same again thing came round on me so I thought i mist of got a puncture. Down to lodge at 2/3 th pace and on the exit the thing just spun even the bulgarian judge would of given me 5.9 ;) It slid along then kisses the rear bumper on the barrier cut a long story short back into the pits 15mins later the car was sold to Hazy. So it all turned out well in the end lesson learnd dont twiddle with a knob if someone is talking to you :hahaha:
