Owned the car for 5 weeks and 2 days and she's off for her rear subframe to be replaced plus a couple of other jobs whilst in there (rear bush replacement and repair the 5p sized stonechip on the roof (fortunaly its not damaged the carbon:smokin:)

Glad it's not coming out of my pocket

Going to feel lost without the car for 2 weeks :bigcry::bigcry:

Cheers

Just think how great it will feel when you pick it up again. Out of interest, the roof is that covered under warranty ?

Paying for the roof myself, they are basiccally doing a touch in. They have said you might be able to see it slightly if you know where the damage was (I'm just tinking it's going to be better than it is at the moment).

Did you notice the subframe was cracked by driving or was it just checked and found ??

Advice to all....get your car looked at. It's becoming a common problem at the age they are. It's doubtful you'll feel it even when it's started ;)

The subframes are being fixed under goodwil, although obviously some cars would be covered under bodywork warranty.

I would recommend that if you want to be sure, you get the car checked at an Indie and if cracked, get the OEM suspension put on and take it to BMW. It would be a valid reason for them to knock it back if you got the wrong dealer.

Add me to the cracked registry.

Asked the lads to look today on MOT. Don't know the extent as mechanics were away home by the time I picked her up.

Holy smoke Bryce, and how many miles are on your car?

I think I'll get mine in over the Winter to be checked out. It's in for a headlight washer to be repaired anyway so it'll take them all of 5 mins to check that over while its in. I have a TMS bush limiter kit installed, surely that won't affect the subframe would it? :-/

Cars done 37,000 Baz. (385 more than last year... :wanker: )

Big problem for BMW it seems, my car is untracked / unabused and this has happened.

Cant see how a limiter kit could cause any more stress really - certainly not enough to cause it to crack anyway. Just make sure the dealer is on your side if it comes to sending evidence to BMW.
