I had a hesitation sometimes pulling out junctions or when cold
It was in at bmw time and time again still no joy all the tests said it was all ok:banghead:

Then when i started it last week the engine light was on took it to BMW
and they replaced the throttle sensor on the end of the throttle linkage
its like a new car better when cold and feels like the sport is on when its not
its night and day :smt055:-D:-D

If you have this try this for a fix here is a picture its the part just above the oil filter housing with the 2 screws :supz:

Ive never noticed hesitation like you describe Mark but what I have noticed is when I punch the throttle from idle the car almost 'splutters' for a split second before revving. If I hold the revs higher - say 1.5k - and punch the throttle it responds well..

The way i would discribe it was like a dimmer switch and the segments go up 1 2 3 4 5 Its like it jumps from 1 to 3 or 4 but not all the time i know another CSL that is doing this and it is going in for the same thing lets see if this sorts it as well

Yep common prob......there is another one of those under the airbox attached to the throttle actuator, both of these tend to fail after a while....

Uncommonly there is also a throttle position sensor in the foot pedal although not the same part as above.....

The sensor on the flap mechanism for the airbox is the same as the 2 above so if you are having problems like described try swapping them around....

Come to think of it, my car is flapless. Could this cause said issue?

Isn't that referred to as mutilation? :119:
