I asked BMW the very same thing on Friday past and they got back to me today to say there was one issued previously. Now the parts supplier at my local garage said he'd press BMW for a replacement one but now reading your post I'm concerned I'll not get one.

If I can't get from BMW I'll be putting a shout out for one too. I don't see why they can't re-issue these, it's an integral part of the car IMO.

My dealer came back to me today also and said they wouldnt re-issue one because one had been supplied for the car which I think is crazy it's like a boot badge coming off and not being able to buy another! Let me know how you get on

Afterthought by BMW and really not worth it. I got one but only because car hadn't been allocated one. I'll keep mine with history file, but wouldn't have paid for one. I think they fetch £150ish. Put the ££ towards a TD or spearmint

Unfortunately there is no part number for these as it was a BMW afterthought.

Sorry to lower the tone of the thread, but these are the people who manufacture the Golf Anniversary Plaques: http://www.fxuk.net/services.aspx?url=vehicle-badging

If yours is missing you simply phone VW and they supply a replacement free of charge.
However they will not supply it with the original number ? The new number assigned is a above 1800, which was the quantity produced eg New No. 1843.

You could try them, or ask Elms in Cambridge if they can help you out. Tel: 0844 326 7250 You could also PM giraffe, see what he has to say.

I believe that if you go to your local BMW dealer and give him your VIN number, he will be able to find/bring you another CSL plaque...

Steve

You'll have to ask to have a go at replicating yours.
I think the base material maybe 1mm. highly polished Stainless Steel or Chromed Alli. but I'm guessing, he would probably know.

If I had 1 that's exactly what I'd be doing.... My local dealer is useless and didn't have a clue what I was on about so I gave up.

Do you make replicas? Are they the same size as the OEM part?

Well I've had some good news.....

My car has never had a plaque assigned to it so I'll have 1 in the new year, I should now be able to get them reproduced by my father in law......
