I was rained off at work today,so instead of doing paperwork and our VAT return, which I should of done,I decided to go down the road and see my mate in his garage to see if he could fit my back box purchased over the weekend from a fellow member on here.so up on the ramp she went.Fitting went well,my clamps were not in to bad condition, the bolts and nuts on the other hand were fooked and it took us a little while to cut the bolts and get them out. While my mate undid the nuts for the hangers I lowered the oem box down,it was a lot heavier than I imagined. We then started to put the rubber hangers on the new box and noticed 2 of them were split, but we used them anyway and I have ordered 3 new ones from our local dealer. So it all went a little easier than I thought and the Agency power (we think) rear box fitted well and looks the dogs bollox with the 80mm titainiam tips.I then started her up to check for any leaks around the clamps. The sound is what I wanted, not to much, but a nice snarley sound,I was also a little worried about the drone in the car,but after taking it up a duel carriage way on the way home, this also doesn't seem to bad,the worst being at about 2500-3000rpm but I can live with that as it wasn't to bad,at 6-7k revs it sounds awesome. So all in all I'm a happy bunny and can't wait for some dry weather to go out and scare some animals and old people.:smokin: pics to follow when I can work out how to do it on a iPad.:-D

Brett,
Did it work out to be much lighter in the end then? The 'new' box was 12 kilos according to my bedroom scales. (but then I'm only 8 stone on them too :-D just kidding).
Glad you are pleased with it - I wish I'd got around to fitting it to my CSL now.....

Its either Status Gruppe or Agency Power as they both look exactly the same.
Could also be a Megan Racing one as they do Agency Power copies over in the states.
It's not a Status Gruppe as it would have their logos embossed on the tail pipes and a SG embossed on the main canister too.
How are you finding it? boomy?

How are you finding it? boomy? Its a little boomy at about 2500 revs, but after that its got a nice snarly sound and yes your right the Megan racing box is also exactly the same design, but they also have their name etched on the tips, that's why I'm leaning towards Agency power,it's very well made and I'm chuffed to bits at the price i paid for it.Just need to find out how many db it's throwing out:)

I would say so, most uk days are 105dB static, apart from bedford and donington
Billyboy's csl is purportedly super loud but still is allowed on everywhere:smokin:

Which bolts and gaskets did you buy Brett? And how much were the new rubber hangers please?

Fortunatly the rear box was only off last week whilst my subframe was replaced:thumbs:Should be straight forward then. When BMW took my Exhaust off to change the clutch, they lowered it in one piece and didn't take the backbox apart from the center section.May pay you to have a quick butchers to see if the bolts look new.

This is what happens when I'm bored at work...... I spend hours searching out car parts etc (I'm a parts manager so I'm always looking into aftermarket parts for cars I own)...
Anyway I got it from eBay of all places lol. The guy only had 1 so considering I recon it's an Agency Power 1 or an incredibly good copy... Looking at the TIG welding/bracing etc someone took some time making it and doesn't come across as a cheaply made bit of kit.
