76mph in a 50 on a motorway bend??? I always used to see the 50 signs on bends as a challenge!
so what will they do to me?:119:

I am sure they only have 14days to noteifie you of the offence but it might just be here in scotland i will ask my traffic cop m8
Its never a good thing geting the speeding fine :bigcry:
Read this
a recent court case was won where the NIP didn't ARRIVE within the 14 days has thrown it into a grey area.
Best to use pepipoo and ask there as they have police officers and solicitors that can advise you.

If it was send in good time, regardless of when it arrived (what was the postmark on the envelope, keep it you may need it) then it may well be valid.
If so then the points depend of if the judge likes purple? :smt055
I was given 5 point + £300 fine for careless driving after some clown pulled in front of me as I was overtaking him with a massive, massive speed difference and the impact causing his car to exit stage left though a fence in to a forest where it had to be craned out so 6 point for 90 in a 70 seems harsh!

Don't forget to turn over the speeding notification just in case they offer you a speed awareness course.
I missed the first two offers :)

Castration I'm afraid Jim:bigcry:
Is that why you are quite high pitched Bounce?
It did arrive in good time, I was speeding, and have done massively ever since I passed my test so I suppose I am 'due' :(
As for the awareness course... It's 64 in a 50 so I am a little over that, I'll plead ignorance to the 50 as it was on an unlit motorway at night, and I was bust texting so didn't have much time to look where I was going

I was lucky Jim,I was caught doing 65 in a 50 and only lost one,I can see you losing the pair.:blalalala:
3 points and a cheeky handjob
Should have driven the focus Jim! Wouldn't have reached 55 and you would have been fine

I reckon you'll get 3 points for that Jim, I was caught a couple of years ago, on the M6, 97 in a 70, I got 3 and a £90 fine.

You can get them removed from your license after 3, but 90% of the Insurance Companies want to know if you got points for the last 5 years, bastids.
DOH that wasn't clever Mr Shimmy, are you a habitual speeder ;)
I wonder who owns the bragging rights of being caught at the fastest speed on here...I reckon it's me :smokin:

Don't think that is right. I think they count for 3 years BUT you can't get them removed for 4 or 5 years from your license.

Actually you're right, I think they changed it a few years back, just checked, they count for 3, but you can have them removed after 4, unless you've done a more serious misdemeanour then they can stay on for 11 :119:

I never get them removed, I like seeing my chequered driving history on my bit of paper!
I stand corrected

I think I've been caught speeding 10 times in my driving career...
Mainly 3 points a go, but I did get banned when I was 19 for excessive speed on my CBR600...doh.
I remember passing my test and then going out in my dads Mercedes and getting nicked for speeding 72 hours after passing my test...whooopsie!

You were lucky Jim :smokin:
Was out in my mates RS MKII with the 440bhp upgrade to it last week...god that thing is fast, I probably would have kept mine if it had that much power, he gave me a whooping once we were rolling :119:
My best was (which I have no intention of beating or getting caught at that speed again) was 136.1mph on my old CBR600, on a 60mph country lane in Petworth, Sussex, resulted in a 3 month ban, £500 fine, £650 court costs...silly boy...was a long time ago now mind

I know a man that got caught doing 160mph on his bike. When police asked what he was doing that kinda speed for he replied " I was slowing down for the roundabout "

Didn't a CSL hold the record for a while in the UK? Think it's that young lad working in a dealers who took a 996TT out and up to 172mph that holds it now

I agree with Nathan, that was harsh are you sure that you did not tell them they should be locking up real criminals - ?
OP - 3 points and a £250 fine perhaps. Just a guess.

Im sitting on a 63 mph on the M6 toll in variable speed 50 limit, and I reckon the fooker changed as I went under the gantry ! do they have a timer on them to accommodate this ?
Worst I got done for years ago was 105mph (and braking) up the M1 in Leics in a Vauxhall Carlton, it had taken me since Bedfordshire to get the bastard there !
Unmarked Cossy back then, camera car. Went to Court and the Wiggy looked at me in the Dock and said "Mr Rogers, do you have any representation here this day?" to which I replied "No m'lud, Im going to tell the truth !" ... they giggled at that !
