After my escapade with the 730d I am seriously thinking about getting one of these 640d on Monday.

These guys (http://www.synergyautomotive.co.uk/diesel/BMW/6-SERIES/640D-M-SPORT-STEP-AUTO/COUPE/details/)are running the offer.

£334 a month for £70k car - what's the catch? :smokin:

51.4mpg combined
5.3s 0-60mph
313bhp
630Nm torque
4 seats
Msport package

Compulsory medallion, sovereign ring and a splash of blue stratos I think.

I see no downside for you then.

I say go for it mate (but spec the optional 8 track ice)

I was looking round one of the 640d Gran Coupe's is it they call it? It's an MASSIVE car and I think it's gorgeous. They go like f**k apparently, just looking at the figures are impressive.

Think I'm a bit young for a 6 series though. Have to say, after the few days I spend in the 320d AUTO TOURING I was enjoying the lazy drive and worst of it is, so was her indoors.

You won't get anywhere near the 51mpg claimed.

That's the only catch I see.

the 730d was averaging 35.5mpg, guess a 640d (3.0 TT) would do about 32mpg

Isn't that an old generation 6, so getting rid of the last remaining stock?

Isn't that for about 8k miles a year though ? Someone commented on PH, what's the point of a waftOmatic diesel GT car that can cross continents with ease, but you can only do 8K a year in.

this one is 10k miles

still got CSL and family car and 10k would be ok for me. £350k a month is a real cost of just around £8000 over two years. depreciation on this car has gotta be £20k plus over two years

The new 640D is a lovely car, funnily enough my friend had one as a loaner from Elms, he brought it round, really strong powerband, you seriously waft along on a sea of torque.

It's a big car though, I'd love one for the daily commute or for long journeys abroad.

Personally I think the new 6 series looks stunning compared to the new 5 series.
