That's the one I have too, it's fantastic, kept the battery nice and happy for 5 months from October through to March.
And keeps my commuter car topped up when I use the CSL with no issues!
Very good bit of kit for the money.
I got mine from eBay about a year ago, I paid about £52, though the prices seem to have stabilised on them nowdays.

For those storing your car over the winter and need one, Aldi of all people will have a trickle charger on sale on Thursday for about £15 quid. Gonna get one as spare to my CTEK which is now about 10 years old.
The last one of these I got for my Farther was a re-badged CTEK - even the instruction manual was the same albeit with a different picture.

Hmmmm good idea. I might buy myself a spare CSL as it is coming up to ten years old.................... just in case.
Sorry could not resist.

Yet another for the ctek. I got a MXS7.0 which is great for small or larger batteries like ones on modern 'fuel of the devil' cars the government insist we drive, and re-conditions flat or ones suffering from sulphur build up. Plenty on flee bay or try a google search.

Chinese replica......don't trust it, I've heard they can blow up the battery if left on.:smokin:

Hi Shimmy, is that the Lidl or Aldi one? The 'trionic' branded ones were the nightmare.
The auto xs out on Thursday is a next gen multi function version.
Am intrigued as to what this actually means and if it REALLY has any new functions, the primary being more charge phases like the CTEK. Most cheap ones (like the lower order CTEKs) only have 3 or 4.
Of course the CTEK ones are the market leader and I wouldn't trust my braille battery with anything else long-term, but these do make a cost effective reserve.
Aldi also have a chrome Torque wrench for £15 out on the same day that I'll be having a butchers at.

Popped down to Aldi this morning re: release of the revised XS charger.
Am pleased to report it is much improved (backlit digital volt meter etc) and one new feature that makes it worth the £13.99 alone, it has a pulse recon mode for deeply discharged 12v batteries.
It can also charge 6V batteries which the CTEKS can't (unless of course you buy a specific 6v one) making it an ace 2nd / spare charger :supz:
Post pics later. I have work and cheap chocolate to chomp through :-)

CTEK for me too .... had my E30 M3 on trickle charge for 10 years plus, whilst not in use.
Battery still in great condition

Another + 1 for the CTEK. It's kept my Cecil's battery fit for the past 3 years, throughout the 6 months of the year winter hibernation :)
Threw it on last week for another 6 months of hibernation.

Not got a clue Niall, but might drop in if I see one. Not sure exactly where the Aldi is around here though. They might ship a few of the unsold ones across the Irish Sea

Have any of you bothered with the comfort connectors? I got some vouchers from my company for Christmas and looking at getting one of these since the charging LED on my screwfix special has packed in.
If so, since I'm offshore could one of you friendly chaps kindly let me know what size eyelets I need for the connectors on the battery? 8mm, 10mm? Furthermore, do I need anything else apart from the charger (was thinking this boy (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ctek-CTE-XS4003-Multi-Battery-Charger/dp/B003B344NC/ref=pd_sim_auto_14)) and then of course either 10mm eyelets (http://www.amazon.co.uk/CTEK-CTE-56329-Direct-Connector-Adaptor/dp/B002X67JYE/ref=pd_sim_auto_5) or 8mm eyelets (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ctek-CTE-56261-Direct-Connector-Adaptor/dp/B002OHN5NQ/ref=pd_sim_auto_20)
Cheers in advance,
Barry

Hi Barry
I actually bought a Halfords trickle charger in the end:
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_19 0498_langId_-1_categoryId_255205
Cheap and cheerful but does the job, comes with all those connectors and you could use the balance of your voucher on petrol? :-D

Cars no been started for a wee while and its totally deed. Not even a light on the dashboard. I really need to get something to keep it right.
Is there a difference between 'trickle chargers' and these CTEK ones? Obviously I need something that can be safely left on car at all times (when not in use) without supervision.
eta; like one of these? http://www.google.co.uk/shopping/product/9313677590228774591?q=trickle%20charger&hl=en&client=safari&rls=en&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&bvm=bv.42553238,d.ZG4&biw=1276&bih=604&sa=X&ei=1cAfUYXzHqel4ASTuIHABA&ved=0CJgBEPMCMAY
