Hi Chaps,

Was wondering if i could leech some info on how often you chaps replace items on your M.

Such as how long do your pads last in AP's, how many days out of a set of tyres r888/cups, how often you drop the engine, gearbox, diff oil etc?

thanks

AP Pads look very good after 3 days, not much sign of wear :-D

Round figures will depend on your driving style, and how you manage geo and
Tyre pressures/temps also westher conditions and rain etc, but my records show recently:

RS29 front 800 track miles
RS29 rear 1200 track miles
AP discs 2000 track miles
AP rear discs 4000-5000 track miles
19 OeM cups 4-6td front, 6-8td rear
18 cups square 8-9 td

Engine 50 track days :). - ill delete that comment later :)

Thats impressive that the brakes last so long. Pound for pound it works out cheaper than running lesser priced pads and you get the stopping power

Just bear in mind most of Shim's track days are spent sipping Pimms in the paddock so maybe his stats are abit off :blalalala:

Jim and evxlge bth have used V70 on the m3/CSL

A few guys have used Toyo with mixed esults.

You'll end up going slower but maybe save some money

More specifically how would you say the V70a compare to the R888? Keep reading conflicting views on the net!

Cups would be nice but are very pricey!

Sounds like ill be going for pagids next time then. I would have throught the blue stuff would last just as well as its meant to be enduro.

How often do you guys bleed the brakes and swap the oils?

I've had ao48's but not r888's and on a different car as well.... so can't really offer you much advice

I had used kumho's at donny, that have worn surprisingly little considering i did just over 200 miles and traction was off, grip is down on cups I would say, as shimmy overtook me while i was struggling for grip but they are 2007 vintage.... more excuses are that it was my first day in the m3, in rwd too, and my car is 200kg heavier than his:whistle::birdman:

Would you say similar to A048?

Seems the Cups despite having the most traditional tread pattern still give best grip for road legal semis.

similar in that you can drive on them for ages:beer: I had yoko's from new, and 10 days on they still gripped, but just not the same, these are 2007 and part worn so hard to say what new ones would be like. I'd probably get cups from new next unless there was a massive price difference.

Cups are best of that I have no doubt :moan:
