Driving along, DSC light comes on and yellow hand brake light. Get the extra bar on SMG indicator so assuming its turned off. Pushing DSC button doesnt do anything. Stop car, leave for 2 mins, restart and all seems good again (lights off).
Moody biatch this car sometimes !
Any similar experiences folks ?

Mine has done this 3 times now since it's recent inspection 1. Hooked up my diagnostic tool and found fault 5E20 = Pressure sensor 1, on the brake servo beneath the brake fluid expansion tank. Google it, it's well publicised ;) There are two DSC sensors there, part number: 34521164458 ) Since it's intermittent fault, it may be a dry/weak connection so worth a wiggle.

Thx bud - may need some pointers on this on Fri
had the same thing just recently, thought it was a wheel speed sensor so bought one & took it to Simpsons to be fitted & it was the traction control pump sensor.. about £80 from BMW
Wont effect the car just no Traction control...happy days :-D

Same has been happening on mine, Shane hooked it up his diagnostic pc - same fault. I'm going to try some wd on the contacts see if that solves it...

I really wouldn't if I were U Jimbo. :clown: ;) Try something like this: http://solutions.3m.co.uk/wps/portal/3M/en_GB/ElectricalMkts/ElectricalSupplies/products/sprays-coatings/cleaning-sprays/scotch-1625-electrical-contact-cleaner/
... if that's too rich for U then I think MAPLIN do something similar for half the price ;)

It must be time of the month. I just changed the wheels over for a Nordschleife track weekend and my DSC is now on. Does anyone think that I may have knocked something puting the wheels on??
Bugger.

DSC Pressure switch ... there are two ... both on the brake master cylinder - usually the rear one that breaks down.

Well following yesterday's hiccup we got up at the crack of dawn and this morning the light seems to have disappeared. Mind you let's see how it progresses. The next problem seems to be getting into Calais. Not a lamb blockade but bad weather and two ships in our dock.
Fingers crossed for DSC and the Frenchies moving.

Spot On Tom :smt023 This came on/off sporadically on mine at the begining of the year so I unplugged each one individually and cleaned the electric connectors. It's been fine ever since :)

I don't think so dUNk :) especislly if you're a good aim or whipe off the excess ;) however the WD40 that Jimbo insists on using, will for sure

I assume you meant to say "should not". Anyway after soem three hours plus bobbing up and down we made the crossing and P&O have offered a refund or another free crossing. So thumbs up to good customer service  , a dying art these days.
Well no more DSC light so I guess it was just a temporary glitch perhaps also related to me changing the pads for RS29s. The Ferrodo will be going back on again now. So I will see if it happens again.
Sunday was supposed to be a full day but due to weather they opened the Nordschleife late (1200hrs) but it was realtively quiet and I had a good session. The next day they did not bother opening it at all :banghead: . It was supposed to be an evening session. Twits !
