Calais to Nurburgring- Best route?

Heading off to the ring Thursday evening for the first time:-D
What would ye recommend as the best route to take from Calais? Any scenic drives with some twisties on the way?

Avoid the Brussels Ring Road at all costs - think M25

From Ireland would it not be better, Holyhead drive to Hull, Hull to Rotterdam ferry
