stelvio pass open dates

im planning on hitting the stelvio pass around about Sep 25th,

will it still be open at this time and if so what are the not to miss roads ?

Should be open, unless there is some freaky weather.

Depends on what you want, for fantastic scenery and one of the highest roads in the alps with some crazy hairpins, the Stelvio is great.

It's not a great driving road however, very tight, severe hairpins with splitter threatening ramps (esp on the northern side) and lots of traffic and cyclists means you'll have miles more driving fun on more flowy, sighted quieter roads of which there are many all over Europe.

It's an overrated pass in my opinion.
I strongly suggest Gotthard -> Furka -> Grimsel -> Susten.
