Just wondering if anybody could tell me what all the updates/recalls were on the CSL's?

As my car is low milage I don't think any recalls have been done on my car and would like them done as piece of mind (or will the dealer only replace if something has failed?).

Thanks in advance

James

I'm not sure but I think the only upgrades was with the SMG box....I'm sure someone will be along to add to that though.

There was a recall on the air filter
If your car goes in for a service they will carry out any recalls

No they usually check, but worth asking all the same just to make sure. Would imagine most have been done by now, especially if service to the schedule.

i believe there were a few SMG software upgrades free but they mainly just slow down the gear change speeds as they had loads of diff failures eraly on which was blamed on the faster changes

Although not an update/recall as such, most CSLs have had various bits commonly replaced under warranty.

When i bought mine it had already had:

Lower wishbone control arms
Differential
Rear springs
RTABs
Wing mirrors
Sill plates
BMW roundels
Steering wheel
Bumper re-paint

Just ring up customer services @ bracknell, give them the number plate or vin and they'll tell you what recalls it has had and if it is due any.

Will they do the steering wheel under warranty? Mine could do with being replaced as the top part is a bit bobbily :banghead:

Depends on how bad it is and also on which BMW dealer it is, as some are more willing than others to replace 'worn' items... It's always been a contentious issue and the subject of many other threads here and elsewhere. The bottom line is "you don't ask, you don't get" i suppose!

As Glendog said worth a try, but wouldn't hold your breath. Good luck.
