Well, i arrived home from being away for 3 months to find the battery dead on the CSL - as expected.

Unlike earlier attempts, this time it will not re-charge... Not bad for an original 8.5 year old battery!

Anyone using an aftermarket (cheaper) battery?

I am using my original 9 year old battery in my Z3.
Works very good.

I bought an original BMW for the CSL, same type/capacity etc.

Thanks Stu, not really gonna get the time outside of having my little girl & visiting family, etc, as I have to go back out in 7 weeks.

I am planning to visit the Ring as part of a Euro driving trip though! :smokin:

Been not bad apart from having a bad back most of this year!

I'm back doing the same seeing friends and family but getting some track time in as i haven't been on track since our Ring/Spa trip May 2010.

Let me know when your going to visit Daz and i'll see if i can head down for a catch up :partyman:

BTW, i ordered one of these from ECP in the end:

Exide 075 Battery (http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Mini_Hatch_1.6_2003/p/car-parts/car-electrics-and-car-lighting/electrical/car-battery/?444770750&1&883e4efb652778e942e4b7a1b8b2fe06655633f7&000020)

It's a slightly higher rated version of the Mini Cooper 065 battery as recommended on here although it is the same dimensions. It's ratings are 60Ah with 600CCA (vice 54Ah, 520CCA of the 065).
