Hello! I have joined the CSL register when it was started and so far it looks like a good turnout of CSL enthusiasts. Im on the look out for a 53/04 CSL with either 15k miles or less. I know how rare these are and have tried the usual BMW UK, PH and auto trader/top marques etc. Are there any other places out there?

Try a wanted ad on pistonheads. Earlier in the year you had quite a big choice of low milers, people seem to be hanging on to them now or clocking the miles up as prices have held.

There are plenty out there with sub 15k

Why so low miles ?
I have a csl with 53,000 miles and it drives as good as the 1 i had with 20,000 on it miles dont matter if it has been looked after.

It also gives you more to pick from, Remember the (black 1s are faster)

Yeah i know, there used to be quite a few about with low miles not so long ago. I will put an ad on PH and see what turns up. Im sure with the CSLs a high/average mile car drives as good as a low miler. Its more that fact of personal choice that i would prefer a low mile example. Im sorry, but its got to be siver grey for me im afraid :-D . How much faster are the black ones exactly? :blalalala:

Yeah saw this when it was posted today. Exactly what im looking for, the only problem is that it comes without the xenons which is really important to me. i have enquired with BMW about fiting xenons from them but its a very big job which will cost alot! Otherwise the car looks like a minter.

I have reto fitted zenon lights to my first CSL it was about £1500.
new headlights.
light control unit and wireing + codeing only took 3 hours to fit.

Yeah i herd you can get the retro fit kit for the xenons from BMW, but i spoke to them last week and the retro kit is now discontinued! so if it were possible to fit xenon headlights they said that basically they would have to start from scratch which would be a major job. Any ideas where i can get an aftermarket retro kit? where did you get yours from mark? Tell me about the rought cars! the times in the past i was promised the car was mint, went to view it and the car was far from it! donkcsl, he definately should have reimbursed you coming from all that way :moan:

Yeah i have found some websites today, CA automotive and SSDD motorsport which sell these kits. If i purchased the projector xenon headlights and the aftermarket xenon kit, then in theory it will work.

i'd say forget xenons and concentrate on getting the best car for the money

Yeah thats what i have been thinking! but i cant really justify spenidng so much for a clean example without xenons etc, think its just me being fussy really, plus i do alot of night driving so xenons will help. i have also found out that it is illegal to run xenons without the washer jets for the headlights, which apparently is an MOT faliure, so thats more cost if i do go down that route.
