Good luck, but the price you're asking is waaaay too far out these days :(

I'm not even sure it should be in the 20's!

I've been looking around the market during the past week and about 18k -> low 20's seems to be the mark with less miles than yours.

Sorry, just saying what I've seen in the past week.....

My mate just sold his 35K CSL for £27k (last Tuesday) and it was not paint perfect and had no warranty so go for it. Doesnt matter what they say here but only who rings and offers you some money!

Exactly. I'm yet to sell a car for anywhere near what it's worth - I always play cheeky and price it high then wait... there's always one.

Don't take all this talk of sub-20/25k CSL's personally chaps!

That's good going, and what I'd hope for - however - I only posted based on my own experience on a possible sale during the past week. I had a DEFINITE buyer (infact, may still have) - he's shopping around and looking at quite a few CSLs, private and dealer owner - and when I said I'd take £20k for mine it still looked like poor value next to all the others! :(

And mine is 1 owner from new, 43000 miles and current full ext BMW warranty, mint interior, a few exterior imperfections but nothing serious.

I mean he was mentioning dealer sold 16,000 mile cars for £21k!!!

Hence my comments....

I'm the biggest CSL fan on the planet but even I can't 'bull them up' that much in the current market, which is a total shit-storm! :-D

Obviously there's always the odd exception.

Anyway, not selling I love it too much and the market is shagged! :D

Dont worry chaps, i dont listen to crap like that !

The car is worth whatever someone wants to pay for it and the price is a "guide" price !

He can keep his £18-20k and i'll keep the CSL for a real enthusiast :blalalala:

Well as I said in my original reply, Good luck :smokin:
And I did make it clear I was only saying what my own experience was during the past week, when I considered selling my own (which I've owned since Aug 2003!).

Yeah maybe a trader would offer low 20's.

Clear as a bell spine, but yours could actually be a bad example, tatty paint whatever and just not what people are looking for and/or they are trying it on with you. On the other hand it could be clean as a wistle, but who knows, each car is different and as shimmy said its worth whatever to the person on the other end of the phone is willing to pay.

Thanks i'll keep you posted.

Yeah maybe a trader would offer low 20's.

Trade offered me £23k for my CSl (a BMW dealership too !) with 20k miles about 6 mths ago so feck knows what they will offer in this climate.....

If someone is selling their CSL's for under 20k or under then it's because they HAVE to get rid....desparate. Most will hang on for more...Must say if thats your experience then I wouldn't question that but I don't think it's the norm even in todays climate....It all depends on how much you want to sell I suppose. Desparate financial times some times call the shots for some.

no its from an independent who's just got it in. i've spoken to another dealer that has a 2003 gray CSl 43000 on the clock for £25950. Hes already offered it me for £25000 as i have no trade in and hes willing to go fiurther on that offer....

I'm waiting for someone on M Torque who use to own the vehicle to tell me about it.

Andyk

Was going to say that was very cheap for a BMW dealer. With that miles and if in great condition they would still want closer to 30k for it.

It's interesting at the moment.. there is a real spread in prices some cars going sub £20k and yet others demanding neaer £30k.

If you've been offered that 04CSL at £24k and you haven't even seen it yet then there has to be more discount to come. I'd be gunning for £22k :smt029

Good luck.

I think sub £20k is a bit OTT tom!

Cheapest i can find on Autotrader UK wide search is £22,995. Next cheapest is £24,995 and that has more mileage than the cheaper one...

Really the cheapest one would be the one sold by that Saab dealership at £25,950, the fact it has a BMW warranty makes the extra worthwile IMO.

I wasn't speculating. If you read my post I was actually reporting my own experience of 'a week in the CSL market'.

Anyway I'm not that arsed, I only dipped my toe in to see what it was like out there.

After owning this car since new August 2003 it's not that easy to watch it drive away in someone else's ownership :-D

Besides Rob.. take that car at £22995, that's just his offer price so you know there's room in that.

_Nathan_
03-12-2008, 11:16 PM
Yep, the 19750 car was higher mileage but still a great car for the money.

BMW warranty can be put on any car with fBMWsh now so no real premium for that other than pro-rata for the remaining amount.
