Just come across this .:smokin:

I can confirm further to our telephone conversation that servicing can be done outside of the BMW network at any VAT registered garage using genuine BMW parts and the correct grade of oil.

This information is not currently listed in our policy booklets but will be available in the future.

Kind Regards

If this is correct it's a big turn around by Mondial and in our favour,as we can now use places like Simpsons and MB tech:wink: for servicing and keep the BMW extended warranty,I will be phoning them tomorrow to confirm.:-D

:(I thought this has always been the case mate. Defo heard this before. No,you have to use BMW for servicing Ian if you have the extended warranty which is through Mondial. It was only under the 3 year manufacturer warranty you can go anywhere. If this is correct it is a big change.

Good news, but still I wonder what would happen if you had a really big claim (engine, say) and the policy book still said that it was BMW approved servicing only.

"Dear Mondial, I have this email from some random bloke on your telephone support line which says it was OK for my local kwik fit to do the Inspection II...."

I think I'd prefer to wait until the formal documentation is updated.

Customer:

"Dear Mondial, I have this email from some random bloke on your telephone support line which says it was OK for my local kwik fit to do the Inspection II...."

Mondial:

"oh yes sir, that was Wayne who we had on work experience for a week. He was a lying shit and nicked all the petty cash. Thanks very much for calling in and double checking with us before you had a serious problem, like a claim for a new engine"

Customer:

"ummmmm......so.........HELP!"

I think I'd prefer to wait until the formal documentation is updated.

Just be careful that this may be old and refer to the original 3 years manufacturers warranty nd not Mondial extended warranty (even though it says Mondial at the end :) )

If it is true I'll still get mine done at Elms as it is a good way of getting a relationship for warranty work and also getting a seconds set of eyes looking over the car.

I had no problems with BMW Leeds making repairs to my Z4M even though it was serviced at an indie.
