:hahaha::hahaha::hahaha:

They're all the local small, fortified towns that the French built in the Middle Ages so that all the local French peasantry could retreat to and try to protect themselves as soon as they got wind of the next English invasion/incursion into the countryside. Bordeaux and Bergerac were held by the English so that they could keep the flow of wine transport down the rivers to Bordeaux open. It's all wine country round their big-time!
