View Full Version : Protective wrap?
Has anyone had a clear protective wrap fitted to the front bumper?
Claims to just bounce stones off?? all sounds great in theory....

Does your car already have stone chips on the front, mine was mint until last year pushing a mate round Bretange, he went off and covered my car in stones chips, no car looks well used

Few minor chips around the archs & front bonnet if you get close but really just the front bumper peppered with them! went out for a Sunday morning run two months ago with a few mates & salt on the road battered the bumper.
Bumper is off and in for paint so now considering extra protection....
Changing the subject - chatting to David from Opentrack this morning & hes put in for a couple of days at Spa summer next year. Fingers crossed he gets them & we can get a few CSL's over

Ive had it done on the CSL and had it on the EXIGE
its fantastic stuff. the body shop local to me said its terrible but i think it just puts them out of work.
i did have one stone that cut right through once..
otherwise 99% effective

Some are very poor installations and some very poor material. Clear wrap, to look good, needs a proper design and proper install and not many do it that well.
I'll let you know he best it you drop me a PM, works in Bucks.

I'm planning on painting the bumper soon and thinking of getting this as well. What kit could I buy? I have a man to fit but just wondering is there a kit already cut out for a CSL ?

There will be a csl kit now when i done mine there was not one for the csl
but Ryan has the CSL kit now i have the 3M on my csl but ventureshild is also very good i went for the 3M stuff as it can take a big stone and not go all
the way through to the paint it is what the millatery use on helicopter blades in the desert to stop them getting damaged :supz:

I have the same but looking a little chipped after 7 years
Have the 3m shield on the r35, saved me from a respray a few days ago as I was following a stupid dump truck. :moan: Pretty good stuff. Covers entire front.

I have the original Armourfend full kit costs iro £900 inc installation and covers:
Bumper
Bumper Carbon fins
Bonnet front 12 inches or so
Wing front edges
Mirror caps
Complete side skirts
Complete roof
Rear 1/4's in front of wheels
The trick is to get it all painted first then protected, can get costly but certainly looks smart without the chips.
