Had our CSL serviced at the supplying dealer last week and they were surprised that we were still the 1st owners. It only covered 11800 miles.
My question how many forum members have had their cars since new?
Also thinking of getting an X -pipe fitted would this make a big difference to the sound.
Thanks

a little OT but I recently joined the CSL ranks having purchased a 1 owner CSL that had only covered 1415kms since new!! I've since added another 350kms in the last fortnight alone and loving every minute of it!
The previous owner was a collector and had had the car hoisted in his garage and unregistered and undriven for the last 3 years! Awesome waste for such an awesome car that's made to be driven but nonetheless, good for me! :-D

Agreed - would I pay more for a 1 owner car than a 3 or 4 owner car with the same mileage, condition? Not much more.
Condition, service history, mileage is the key issue for me.

Bought the csl from the BMW garage with 3000 on the clock in May 2004 - the registered keeper before was the BMW garage principal. Now just scraped over the 33,000 mark...

Did consider putting it away after summer, but only have space for one in the garage and that's reserved for my M535I once it is restored.

I used to be a 1-ownererer. Picked it up new in Jul 2003 and got rid in Aug 2010.

Personally, i think the fewer owners a road car has had the more likely it is to be taken care of and are more likely to look after it properly. With something like a M3 CSL unfortunately, that is very rare.

i myself am not one for having these fantastic cars and never using them, whats the point ?
i know its nice to have a low milage perfect car but dont you think its a crime on the car not to use it the way it wants to be used.
also letting people see it on the road, little kids going past in the back of cars with there faces pressed against the window like i used to be when somthing special is at hand.
also care that arent used reguarly get a bit wooly and perrish a bit i think.
or saying that mabye im also just a nob. :wanker:
Would love a mega low miles example to leave in the garage and cage the current 50k example for prue track work :smokin:

I would love to go all out cage it & strip it to within an inch of its life but if just abit worried what it will be worth as just a track car?

My car in its current guise is worth more smiles per miles to me, thats what its all about.
Maybe its devalued, but if im honest not an issue. It will always be worth a decent amount.
