Good to see you all today fellas...

Gareth and Elms crew, big thanks for laying on brekkie / draw / goody bags.

(G - the light stayed off all the way back so clearly I was doing something wrong....again)

Great service.....see you in a couple of weeks.

Double thanks from me:

For the hospitality and the (grossly unfair) prize draw hospitality. How come I can never win anything even when the odds are less than 3:1? :banghead:
And for Gareth and Dan sorting out my CSL so thoroughly this week

My first time at Elms and a very impressive set up you have there.

Yanto won an M watch.
Somebody won a £200 trAckday voucher

I won M earings and a weekend (3 day) Brands Hatch DTM admission for 2 persons inc grandstand and pit lane passes.:partyman:

Thanks to both M techs and Emma and an especial thanks to the reception girls.:-D:119: I assume they work there unless they were hired in for the day.:finga:

Gareth did my oil service and swapped out my bonnet alarm sensor all in 8 mins (just see how much profit they make!)

Well done everybody.:partyman:

I'll add my thanks, too, Gareth. Really helpful and clearly knows all there is to know about the CSL.

As discussed, I'll be in touch on Monday to talk about the work required. Thanks for taking a look- a credit to Elms and a good reason to make the journey to Cambourne to get that work done.

Do I get another bacon but tie if I come back in a fortnight?

Was it your car had the hanging off splitters?

You gonna loose them. Lost one of mine that popped out at the top. Try to keep under 70mph!

Elms seems to be a great place for CSL's.
We have nothing like that over here at all :(

We do, to be fair have a great dealer in that they are very accommodating and look after their customers but no open days or the likes.

Yep, thanks, Emma, dan, Gareth and the crew. Next time if we can get enough people elms will be happy to give away a service on a m car up to an inspection II. It would have to be high numbers and some m3/m5 owners to get the numbers up but I'm sure Emma can keep us in the loop & help boost elms profile.

In fairness Chris, does anyone ever ask or attempt to organise stuff like this? I genuinely don't know but we had to approach dealers in Scotland with semi-confirmed numbers and suggest events/prize draws/BBQ's etc before they'd be interested. I'd have thought the likes of Bavarian/The Country Garage/DP would at least listen to someone regarding it. Especially if you included Mini as I expect they have a huge following.

Was basically just a meet but at a dealer, was usually a good laugh and judging by most of the dealers in our area, they're usually good enough craic. If we played our cards right, could usually get little jobs done too, at heavily discounted rates. I remember I had a brake warning sensor replaced for nothing basically, the guy genuinely enjoyed working on the cars. I know it's only a 10 minute job but still, if you'd booked it in, forgetting the hassle of it all, it'd had cost around £50, at least.

Worth a thought.

Hope not! Although you got me paranoid enough to pop outside and check. They look fine to me.

Mine was the SG on bronze wheels - is that the one you're thinking of?

Thanks Gareth - you only gave me good news about mine...

I've just been making some notes with some questions for Emma and I'll call tomorrow to try to book the CSL on or around 26 May.

I'm really sorry I didn't get a chance to say good bye to you - I had one of those 'where the f*ck are you' calls from the wife while my dad was looking at the minis! Top chap and really good to meet you.

See you in a couple of weeks!

I asked Emma about a taxi and there was no offer so I presume its my only option Steve.

I may have to start using my local BMW dealer after this visit, my son (Tom) has just landed a job as an apprentice mechanic
he got the call 5 minutes ago, thanks Gareth for your advice through the process  maybe you can swing a lift for me as well ;) I asked Emma about the sub frame pre problem fix and she said she would have a word with you, I didnt want to be the guinea pig and also asked to confirm pricing as the other place does it for £300

S.Mac I would normally but working in Manchester :banghead:

Taxi from Elms to Cambridge train station is about £20 - £25 as about 12 miles away.

Id ask Emma for a lift to train station or a car.
