Morning, all.

So now the CSL has been reduced to fun wagon, from everyday hack, the battery isn't holding charge.

Went flat the other day, got BMW out and they sorted it. Took it up to Silverstone and back, then parked it up again.

Lo and behold, it's flat again...

Suggests to me, that it might be new battery time? The man from BMW checked and the battery was receiving a charge, which would suggest that the alternator is ok?

One thing he suggested was getting a solar trickle charger. The car's parked on the street so there's no option to plug it in to the mains (short of hard wiring the car to a street lamp).

Anyone got any experience of the solar option?

Johnny

A search would help :)

A battery charger is what you need.
Consider the CSL with its' small battery like a RC car; when you don't run it, you charge it.

That's the one! The man from BMW (who wasn't quite from BMW) (i.e. independent tow company) said they work in some cars, but not others, just wanted to check for the CSL and see if anyone here had experience of them.
