Chaps,

Had my car corner weighted and a geo done after having my Nitrons setup, some new RTAB's and a limiting kit fitted at Simpsons yesterday.

However, they forgot to fit a spring pad to my left rear shock (and stupidly I didn't check), it sits between the rear spring and the platform adjuster (still running separate shock and barrel spring rear), my kit didn't come with them and I had a pair for them to fit.

Obviously all I need to do is drop the rear shock and spring to fit the pad, as I'm still getting rattles from the left side, so it's not a massive deal to sort it.

My question is, will dropping the rear shock / spring affect the geo they have just done?

Ta

The ride height is set by the spring perch, so you will be fine. You dont need to drop spring out either. Easiest way to do it........ undo 2 13mm nuts on strut top(top of shock). Slowly jack car up, slide in rubber mount. Lower slowly whilst guiding shock mount in. Job done, 5 min job.

Your geo should be fine.

Not sure but I have replaced springs before on rear without removing damper fixings. You may need to jack open the wheels to arch to make the space

Nice one thanks Shane.

I usually go in the other way (ooer), by removing the bottom damper bolt on the rear strut, which then allows the rear arm to drop...

I do too on ramps and if completely removing strut, but you only need to drop it down slightly

this way.... wheel stays on and you only need one jack. And can do on drive at home. Im not sure of everyones experience, equipment capabilities etc.

Sounds good to me, i'll give your way a go when the weather clears up, cheers

What you having done to your car btw? Saw it all stripped out!

I thought it might be a squeeze lol.

Full weld in cage and all the trimmings, I might go for intrax and see how they are compared to the KW. Not sure though yet.

How you finding your intrax?

Just a little, though got it all in, took Dave and I ages to squeeze it back out yesterday morning though!!

Not much then! Is it going to be a dedicated track car? Looked serious as they had it all stripped out ready for your cage.

Not got Intrax, went for Nitron NTR Sport kit with TMS top mounts, so far so good, happy with the ride, the height is a little on the high side for my liking but they have to be run 5-10mm higher than Intrax due to the damper stroke, if I get rid of my rattles i'll be happier!

I'm using it to sprint and trackdays. It's going to retain some refinement, some carpets etc. ala Porsche gt3rs. Going to run soft slicks at the sprints. And it will be used to drive to and from tracks. Inc ring/spa end of may.
