Last tuesday I broked in two different points the Milltek exhaust system while doing a track day at Brands....:banghead:
Unfortunately I had to stop my session:bigcry: it was too loud
The system was cracked in two ponts of the mid section near welding points.
Have you heard of similar problems before?
Do you think it can be safely welded or I need to change the mid section?
the car is now with George at Technosport in wst London, awaitting for his feedback:smt015

Did you buy the milltek brand new?
I would contact milltek direct to get a replacement part sent out for free - they will require a copy of the invoice or the serial number on the exhaust.
I've had new backboxes twice! annoying but can't fault there customer service - ask for leigh ravey or charlie orpen:beer:

No I bought the CSL in Feb from another owner with the full Milltek.
The system was installed by Thorney motorsport, I still have the invoice from the previous owner.
Maybe is worth a call to Milltek

Yeah saw your car in there the other day......Milltek offer lifetime warranty, but TBH they are not renound for quality...their welding is well below par if you compare it to SS....
But they should give you a new one.

Mine did this but I bought the car with it on so I just took it off & welded it, pretty shocking really given how much the exhaust was

No but a few years ago quite a few did. Italian welding!
I've had a cracked 100 cell cat, same as picture but caught before it separated.

My Milltek cracked in exactly the same point as Graham:banghead:
It is incredible that thet can crack so easily!
My Milltek was installed in 2009 by Thorney but the car did less than 4000 miles before developing the cracks!
Anyway I sent an email to Thorney as, in theory, they should handle the warranty issues as they are the official dealer for Milltek: let's see what they say...
BTW, look what they have recently announced about Milltek warranties:
Important warranty announcement regarding Milltek Sport exhausts and Vauxhall vehicles.
Due to a variety of critical issues all exhausts manufactured by Milltek Sport will cease to be covered under the Thorney Motorsport warranty with immediate effect.
All those customers who have purchased a Milltek Sport exhaust direct from Thorney Motorsport or one of the recognised Thorney Motorsport Performance Centres are not affected. Any Vauxhall owner who has purchased a Milltek Sport exhaust from any third party should be referred to their supplier in the event of any Milltek Sport product malfunction or failure and not to their Vauxhall dealer. Product failures specifically include but are not limited to issues related to engine management lights, MOT failures and general product failures.
The standard Vauxhall and Thorney Motorsport warranty terms are unnaffected.
For any other queries please contact us directly on 01908 28798.

All the 100 cell cats are HKs (wether you buy SS or Milltek) so I am not sure if SS and Milltek buy the cats and weld on the pipes or that both are bought and resold as a complete unto
Either way it may explain wh we all have had weld issues between pipes and cats

Guys I am still waiting for my exhaust to be repaired after more than 2 weeks:wanker
Anyway the good news is that Milltek accepted to re- manufacture the entire mid section under heir lifetime warranty. They told me that the cause of the cracks were due to some kind of contamination....no idea what they meant.....:119:
I just want my CSL back!!!
I really hope I won't have more problems with Milltek:whistle:

did you go direct to milltek?
I should have gone to the place i bought mine off, but i just told miltek that I didn't trust the incompetent idiots ( not TMS by the way but i thoink you could say that about them) so i wanted to deal direct with them....
they said fine
and i got a new section the next day:thumbs:
hope its all sorted soon

Im guessing there is more to this than meets the eye as Thorney are no longer advertising Milltek products, Milltek are still great products and i'd have one tomorrow at the drop of a hat, after having them on several cars before they are great

Hi Jez, my car is still with George at Technosport. I have been dealing directly with Charlie at Milltek (who handed the whole process rather well).
They are re-manufacturing the mid section now and ship the new piece to George on Monday morning. Sadly I will collect the car only the following week as I am leaving fro Brazil (business...) tomorrow.:bigcry:
feel free to speak to George: he is fully informed
Cheers M ill give him a bell.
