as said check owners, service historys upto date and done on time. the one on pistonheads looks the better buy to me. also bear in mind the black ones does'nt mention anything about having air con :smt028

Hi. The Black one is mine and regarding Air Con, I've amended the advert on Ebay to reflect that it does have this very important option.
You're very welcome to inspect. It's a known car that I bought from another CSLregister member.

To save clogging up the bord I said I would throw this here:
I just spotted it while browsing on my lunch break.

What are peoples opinions on it? Forgiving the replacement of the bumper and bonnet (which I would be a little wary about), what do you generally think fo the car?
To be honest, I am not looking for a sub 50k which will be garaged all its life, I plan to drive the car once I get it. Looking at the service history, alathough diff seals have been done, should I be worried that there's no mention of upgrades under recall and no mention of attention to the clutch?
Would be very interested to hear you opinions on this one!

If it's now Cat D like the advert implies, then I wonder if 19 grand is cheap enough - the "lorry reversed into it" story may be true, but what about when you come to sell it and that story is now second/third hand, will a subsequent buyer be convinced ?
Shimmy would know how much it went for last year, I think you'd want to get it for at least 30% under that amount, and it may be a great buy at that price depending on what you're planning to do with it.

It's a shame Bealo's Cecil ended up being on the V car register :banghead: probably Cat D. It was a very clean example up until Shimmy SOLD it on his behalf.

just to note any potential buyer interested in the sg one on pistonheads. don't be put off by people saying 'incomplete service history' it's only an issue IF you want a bmw warranty. if say its not been serviced for 2 years and 3 months does'nt mean its a bad car. as with that low milage tbo it may not need one (although its nice for peace of mind). seems a fair few cars one here get slated for 'incomplete service history'.

+1,
It's just about the warranty. Seeing how many cars get slated for not having it, makes me want one more.
I feel a poll brewing ..... How many owners have the warranty?

tbo tho if your buying a csl under 50k miles you'd be stupid not to take a warranty out as it works out around £980 ish a year. which is fuck all as it would soon pay for itself. but if like me your in the over 60k plus club it jumps up to around £2000 a year for a warranty and for me (in the motor trade) its just not worth it.
edit-
in answer to your question as to how many on here have warranty's i'd guess at well over half.

in answer to your question as to how many on here have warranty's i'd guess at well over half. For anyone over 60k miles like myself,I would suggest the named component cover, which I think is £1200 with Emergancy breakdown.it still covers you for most of the expensive bits, just not so much on brake bits and suspension, but still covers you for the amount you paid for the car.I have had my money's worth this year with a new Smg pump, which I think would have been around £2000 and new clutch and fly wheel last time at £1600.So I will be renewing for as many years as I can.Even if I don't make a claim my mind is at rest.;)

How did you manage to claim for a new clutch, is that not classed as normal wear?

How did you manage to claim for a new clutch, is that not classed as normal wear? No,it was slurring and when they took the clutch plate out I was told it would have been good for another 60k miles,so new plate and flywheel under warranty,it's now pulling like a train(well done Gareth)

the age of the car has no effect on its ability to have a warranty (you are mixing it up with the suposed end of goodwill for subframe repairs at 10 years)

Long live the BMW warranty. Most of the non-BMW warranties I looked into paid nothing after 10 years.
