Who is up for a HOW FAST at Bedford on Saturday 9th June.
For £99 you get one hour track time (last time we did 50 minutes of driving, on the West Evo Magazine Circuit and then another hour where you do four laps (two timed) to record your best efforts.
Tyre and brake wear is minimal, petrol only £30-40 so all in all it's a lot cheaper than a usual trAckday, less track time just, but some real competition. Proper laps recorded And displayed in real time back in the pit lounge.
I suggest the 10am session which will be 11-1 on track so fog or damp should have gone and always chance for 3-5 session as well!
http://www.howfast.co.uk/event-details.aspx?productid=1436&calType=howFast
MsV say that all sessions have space for 5-6 cars currently and chances are if the day is warm we might be able to double up on the day and do a double session.
Surely NorthernJim can make this one and show us how the CSnoL goes.
(my car has always passed noise at Bedford even with 100cell cats and SS res centre and lt race back box so you should all be fine- except Billy)

Im not, better than DIY, but not sure if I want to change the back box over.
Apart from that id be up for it!
If I did do you think id pass DB test with
SS cats, SS centre pipe (no res) & standard back box?
Otherwise the car will sound crap!
Also if you do morning session they give you a discount rate for the track day on other parts of track.

At spa I was def not that we'll focused, hung over a bit I think. Zolder and Bedford much more concentration.
Bedford initially felt slippy today once we got onto track at 11am. Just 6 cars (2x CSL, 2x Atom, mx5 and Juno (Radical type thing). My first two timed laps were 1m24.7 and 1m 24.2 which already was faster than last time but this initial speed was due tot he fact that the cones were better placed than last time out, allowed us a bit of kerb on some corners and the two chicanes were a very little bit more opened up.
At our outing last year Barry and I posted our fastest times in the timed sprint, both 1m 24.3 but this year both of us posted our best times in the practice. M best was 1m 21.4 and in my timed sessions my two times were 1m 22.4 and 1m 22.7, unfortunately spoilt I think mainly by me having a big moment on the last/first corner which spoilt both my timed laps. I have a feeling my second lap would have been a corker except for the poor start.
I'm gonna check out the pbox files and times and report back.

Just as I thought. No Funkster = No rain!
Least your times are both consistent.
Doing the perfect lap do you both reckon you can get into the 1.20's or 1.19's?

We were both left till the end waiting for everyone else to do there fast timed laps, about 15-20 mins, tyres had cooled.
perfect times today would probably have hit 1:20 something, my ideal time was low 1:21:supz:

I think Bedford has great tarmac but short circuit. Best thing is to book on early as possible,m get number ONE transponder then you will go out only 2 minutes after the one hor session finishes so your tyres and brakes will be warm.
If you do that i think sub 1m 20s would be a good target, but doubt youd get under 1m 19.5s, especially first visit.
