Just had renewal through...

No change to anything / No incidents on last 12m
Complete vanilla renewal
Didnt even max out track usage this year...

Premium 2011: £1026
Premium 2012: £2007 :bigcry:

Is this down to all those cocktards driving aournd w/out insurance or accident fraud increase, did E14 just turn into a war zone or do they simply not want my business ???

Calling them in a bit, but wondered if anyone else has experienced ?

Must be the post code, give them the in laws postcode and see what happens.

Either that or use up the track days, 1k's quite pricey for CCI, mines even £606, but up for renewal end of next month.

I sorted my renewal with CCI last month, it went up slightly from last year, but then I had a mileage cap extended and i've moved house.

I did have a long chat with them and as everyone has said they were not too keen if you use your CSL as a daily driver or use it over 10k p/a, that seems to make them uncompetetive, which is a shame.

Yanto, do you park yours on the Street in E14?

I'm with CCI and I paid £368 for 5K miles and garaged with all mods declared. :supz:
The car is also kept away from my residential home in a secure compound.

The only stipulation is that I have to give them at least 3 days notice if using the trackday cover.

As with all these things though, you only ever find out how good your insurance REALLY is when you have to make a claim.

Best,

Ian, your higher then expected renewal with CCI may be down to the fact your Cecil is your only car + the E14 postcode as usual ;) They like to hear one has the use of another car.
My renewal last October was £335, 37 year old driver, full NCD, Agreed value @ £24K, 3000 mile/year limit, usual FREE 5 days/year T.D. cover, Garaged @ home when not in use with all the mods declared and (importantly) use of another car in a safe/secluded Cambridge postcode.
You best have another chat with them and find out exactly what's making your renewal more expensive then the average on here.

27 year old driver, 5 years NBC, garaged, Northumberland postcode, all mods declared, access to others cars. 28 yo gf on policy, 5k mileage allowance and usual td cover. 650 quid.

Billy, spoke to them last week...... My renewal came through at over eight hundred quid.

Called and spoke to a very helpful young lady who looked into my policy and asked if I used the car to commute, when I said no the policy went down to 520 still with my 5000 miles and 5 track days.

Just ask for it to be removed and it'll be sorted. It,s a change with the underwriters and the new policy they provide.

I think I know why all of our premiums have gone up this year :smt115 ... although I can't quite explain why Ian's has almost doubled :smt017

My CCI renewal is at the end of this month so I got all the paperwork trough last week and sure enough mine went up as well, about 25%, without any changes at my end. Having just sopken to Kim @ CCI at length about the recent price increases I discovered that for the first time in many year AVIVA (who are the underwriters) have increased their premiums across the board :banghead: Secondly: the commuting to & from work part of the cover that use to be a FREE, no cost option, is now a chargeable entity :banghead: ... and it's this that really bumps up the premium. By removing this option (which I personally don't need anyway as I have a Daily Donkey) my premium dropped down a considerable 30% .
The last small difference between the 2011 v 2012 quotes is the limited mileage entitlement which has now changed from: 1500, 3000, 5000 or 7500 to: 2000, 4000, 6000 or 8000.

So if any of you guys have a second car and don't use the CSL for commuting, get this option removed (worth trying even if you've recently renewed) and see your CCI quotes/premiums drop back to 2011 price :smokin:
