Had a couple of days of headscratching and decision making.
The outcome.......... I have bought my original CSL back, I didnt think my mate would sell her, but after speaking to him over the last few days, we agreed a deal, and she is back home. He dropped her off this afternoon.
It feels so so so good. I have driven lots of CSL's and they all feel different. She was my first and you never lose the love for your first.
Its going Simpsons on saturday for a full cage install:finga:.
Interior is sold already:partyman:. In fact its out sat in the reception floor already.
KW clubsport already fitted.
BBK all round
Exhaust
A few extra carbon bits thrown in for good measure.
So shes just as I left her. And Ive looked after her all the while anyway so I know its still a great one.
Looking forward to the ring and Spa now, and I now have no excuse to not get Shimmy below 2.50:thumbs:

What happened @ 3:10 in the video
A lotus 11 had gone grass tracking and strewn mud/grass across the track. The vectra who we were closing in on very very quickly, just decided to come to a near standstill, john who was the camera car, nearly mated his M3 up my CSL's arse.

Not clever of the vectra:moan: I wondered because you couldn't see anything on the vid and all of a sudden you guys were on the anchors.

Yeah, will make it heavier :D
You'll notice the extra chassis stiffness, assume you're having the works?

Yeh tying into front struts, diff front/rear etc, full weld in Jobby.
I'm having the back carpeted, ala pork GT3, I will be driving too and from tracks and want to retain a small amount of refinement.

Hi,
Lawsy- if your doing the Front Strut
Towers to Cage then I am guessing
your moving or deleting the ABS etc.
That is a lot of work relocate, cheaper if
you move it into the Parts bin though !!
More weight saving against the Cage too.
Sell the CSL ABS, good value S/H as its different
Components to the STD E46 M3, and then fit a
Brake Bias Pedal Box with remote adjust
and MC's to suit etc.
Then its Drexler...........................

The Gorilla.

The abs is staying for now, the cage is customised to front struts so it can be retained.
It's a future consideration though. I'm trying to retain a little refinement as it will be driven to/from Europe trackdays and ring trips. Sort of like pork gt3 rs.
Ordered my plastic rear windows today.

I know, but interior out should offset a little of that extra weight and hopefully the cage stiffness will outweigh the weight penalty. We will see.
The best set-up CSL I have driven is Duncans, the cage just transmits all the feeling to driver. You seem to have a better feel.
Mines got no AC either so that should knock about 5-10kg off too.

looking forward to more pax laps shane, should be a real weapon when its finished
if you are caging it are you getting fancy bushes too:drool:

The rear windows are 2 kilos each.
Is it worth switching to plastic ones ?
I would personally swap engine hood, trunk, front wings to carbon ones.
You get easily 12 kilos down.
The titanium exhaust (cats, midpipe and backbox) that twitty is making has huge weight savings too.

Plastic rear, and rear side windows on order Alex.
I want to try keep it semi useable for long trips to spa/ring etc.
I already have rear ti exhaust back section. So a few KG saved there.
