just got back from the ring last night, had an amazing time and weather was'nt to bad. csl was faultless bar a burst rear shocker on the last day :(

spoke to two csl owners (maybe 3 lol). not sure if any of you are on here?

first lap of the weekend was following this muppet in the vid for three corners. he was driving beyond his limit on the previous two courners i was following him. inches from the barrier then on the grass again. i commented to my mate 'this dickheads gonna have a off in a min' as i finished the sentence this happened-

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FLUkaySEY8

saw both drivers and passanger were ok and 3 marshalls were already on that corner and plenty of people flagging cars down so thought not stopping was the best option. looking back i'm glad i did'nt stop.

Hi dave, spoke to you briefly on my last lap of the trip - Sunday about 2pm just after having a moment on the oilspill between hohe acht and wipperman, I was the one asking about it as we pulled off the circuit at the same time

Decided that was a good point to call it a day

Sorry didn't get a chance to have more of a chat, but there's always next time

Can't wait to go back again

Cheers

Conleth

Holy smoke, that's never nice to see/hear, what was he driving? Looked like some kind of crossover effort.

At least he wouldn't have had to pay for any armco damage :notworthy:

That was a Honda CRV, doesn't take much to push beyond the dynamic abilities of a car like that round the Ring, news is that the two people in the accident are OK, bloody lucky I reckon.

This is a very very black humor, but i was in tears when i read it!!!

I cant believe the guy really did not touch the armco!! One could say - what a lucky chap!

I was out there during 'Car Friday' last year with Jim - what a complete clusterfuck that was lol! I forced myself to stay away after witnessing many queues and accidents before 10AM even rolled round... :119:

But on the serious note, i really dont understand:

A) why would someone pay 25 eur to drive a crossover on the Ring?

B) why the hell you would you drive a crossover above your limits there?

In any case, glad that the guy is ok and hopefully he would learn out of it.

I was there too, heavy heavy traffic everywhere and lot of similar situations. Just after that video I was asked multiple times if the CSL on the video is me.

Lucky it's not at that time I was down in Adenau helping my friend sort our services on his new crashed GT3RS 4.0 which had accident round hour before this on oil which leaked from some swedish GT3 :(

not a good weekend, too many people and super shitty weather for Saturday and Sunday

My Girlfriend found that video on Sunday night, the first time we watched it I thought the CSL might’ve been me as I recall that red Golf on my tail only a couple of corners later & I’d drove pass without seeing the accident, but thankfully not!

On a second look I knew who-ever was driving the CSL couldn’t have miss it.. ringside seat that!!

I like the referee who seemed to go mad with her whistle once the incident took place. Presumably she was trying to stop the crowd from jumping the barrier and going to assist.
