Just wondering if anyones has any history with the Z4 M. I am tempted but still favoring the CSL. Think it may be a good stepping stone before hiting the CSL, or just stretch out for the CSL now, but concerned "Whats after that!" if i decide CSL..lol

I test drove one before I bought the CSL and at the time the only ones you could get were either brand new, or ex Demo's. Even an Ex Demo was 43K and at the same time CSL's were changing hands for 37-42K.
After driving both the choice was obvious. Not too mention the extra 2 seats and the much bigger, in fact the mere existence of a boot made my choice for me.
Was a nice drive though, I have to say. I especially liked the steering, but maybe it was the overly thick steering wheel, I don't know.
CSL every day though, Z4M's will continue to drop in Value.

I totally agree with the CSL holding value for sure, the Z4M will keep dropping, like the standard M3 untill it reaches a certain amont.
CSLs however will always be that classic collector and an icon for BMW and withholds its value & eventually appreciate.

I had a BMW UK press car when they were first released.
We had Bedford to ourselves for the day and tested it back to back with my modded Z3MC for a magazine feature.
IMO it should not be compared to the CSL, its not half the drivers car, looks ok however with CSL wheels on and in a decent colour.

I had a 3.0 Z4, and whilst it was fairly quick, the handling never inspired confidence, though it did have RFTs on.
Every time I pass a Z4M in my M3, I do wonder just how mental they must be - same engine but a lot less weight, especially over the rear wheels.... :119:

They should be slightly quicker than the CSL because of weight but CSL is a is still probably the quicker track car but would imagine not much in it.....CSL still the drivers choice though. I drove one and thought it was mental. Very old school and you have to have concentrate when getting to the limits. Lots of fun and as said above with CSL wheels they look stunning. There is a chap on Piston Heads who has a white one with a carbon fibre roof....looks very cool.

Very tempted, I saw that white one on one of the PH runs from wadhurst station. Looks pretty sick! Must of been a respray, and what bout the carbon roof? Real CF or Vinyl?

You can get them in white, but most were bought before white came into fashion...
I'd like to try one. On paper they sound awesome, and they are silly money at the moment.
