Beats the 'just in time' philosophy otherwise it would be voll gas all the way as we would not want to keep our German friends waiting.

Just to keep you all in the loop. Have had loads of discussions with BMW Germany, arranging as best we can this early a two day event plus hopefully some track time.

Nothing can be fixed 100% until new year but from September we hope to:

1. Confirm provisional dates
2. Confirm planned 3 day calendar
3. Get better idea of cars/people inc passengers.
4. Try to ge some support for the trip from Manufacturers associated with CSL.
5. I will try to prov book hotel for 2 nights

This should allow all to make plans and even if you want book travel, although I will reiterate that most things can't be 100% confirmed with BMW until January.

We can then also start looking at what we cold do on the way done and back up regarding other things to see or trackdays.

Right guys as some of you may know I picked my CSL up last week and loving! What's the chance of counting me in for this epic Eurotrip?? No wife to consult, no weddings, no fook all so I'm there.

Ok, so the provisional dates are 25-28 May 2013 (Bank Holiday weekend in the UK)

Munich days within that are Sunday 26th and Monday 27th May with travel and trackday(s) being arranged for the 25th or 28th or both.

I am currently looking for hotel options in Munich for 2 nights for a group booking, arrival late saturday 25th and depart late afternoon on the 27th

SO BOOK THIS OUT IN YOUR DIARIES NOW and look out for the new thread when i get my BMW reply and my act together.

I got it out today for the trip to AST!!!! I only did 4 or 5 miles but I was smiling when I got out, not sure the other road users were happy.
And yes Gareth has probably done more miles, although Cambridge isn't close....

I am trying to get a provisional plan sorted for all 3 days inc trAckday. Also I am trying to drum up some press and other interest if I can.

All being equal by Xmas we should have something to book !

BMW are just trying to put together a trAckday either side of the Munich dates so just holding out for them before going mad.

I have copied relevant posts from above so this post summarises where we are.

From last experience I would avoid big convoys, pref less than 5 cars but definitely keep it under 10.

Just for your info my plan is to rrnage from dinner Saturday 7pm in Munich say to around Tuesday 6pm after the trAckday where we go our one separate ways.

That means smaller groups can arrange their own travel to and from Munich/Saltzburg from those times after the New Year (I would not book anything that is not changeable until then). Groups can rrnage to drive out Friday and do the Ring Saturday or do a Euro trip after the trAckday, alternatively travel out direct Saturday via Chunnel or the Hull Love Boat and travel back overnight to get to work.

I would recommend that each group/area set up their own thread in the Events section.

Elms can probably make more than the cost, as there will probably be 5 diffs, 2 gearboxes, 1 engine, 50 wishbones needed in 3 days:)

Make sure you bring the Credit Card machine.

(although I get the impression Gareth didn't) :hahaha: I was in fact going to suggest a similar thing a few weeks back then Gareth told me it may be already be happening. Its a good idea for such a meet and Elms could make some good dough in parts alone, not sure the £100/ hour labour will go down well though! :smokin:

I have been part of organisers teams for Rally Runs that go across Europe a few times before. In fact vehicles are always X5/ X6s curtsy of BMW Bracknell and service crew are always present with a van full of shares and they do always work the hardest and get the most praise at the end. You joke but I have know them to stay up all night stripping down gearboxes and engines just so the participants can drive the next days route. No pressure Gareth! :smokin: Are there planned to be 2 in service?
