just got my TD 9" ET30 with 265 cups to try on the car today. rears fine with existing 12mm spacer but the fronts seem very close to the shocker. i know shimmy/lawsy/dunc have said that should be fine but does seem very close to me

this is how much ive got with 235 on 8.5" with 12mm spacer ET44

garage that fitted/set up intrax for me said would prob need 5mm spacer to give a bit more clearance. was wondering if i could get away with 3mm H&R trak+ spacer to try and prevent outer edges from fouling the outer edge of the arch on suspension compression.
this is where they sit with no spacer fitted

what does everyone think? not actually tried to drive the car on the road/track yet.
running -2.8 camber intrax k2

camber wont affect anything asthe shock moves with the rim and tyre.
id say it looks ok as its close to the rim side of the tyre not outside

ok cool, cheers chaps
also, the 26mm bolts supplied with TD's go into the hubs about 8mm or so, i.e.
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff240/CTm400/photo-6.jpg
is that far enough to be secure? as 26mm bolts go further into hubs with other alloys, like this:
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff240/CTm400/photo-7.jpg
the longer bolts i have to go with my current set up and spacers go in 2-3times as much.

right, i decided to stick all wheels on today and go for a drive to see how it was. tried the left front on and that made the decision for me - no clearance at all. shocker touching the tyre :banghead:
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff240/CTm400/photo-8.jpg
other side is close to the point that clearance depends on where the raised writing/markings are on the sidewall. seems to be down to about 1mm, so if any wobble/flex in sidewall would be easy to foul the shock
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff240/CTm400/photo-9.jpg
going to order 5mm spacers tomorrow, and slightly longer bolts at the same time and hope they're here in time for oulton on friday or donny on sunday

Something aint stacking up right there mate ! Just going to check pics of my Intrax.
Right, I can see the problem now, its the Coil spring supporting Ring immediately above the red adjusting nut, Its your ring its bigger than mine !:gayfight: ... in my pic that part is different , mine are 4 way not 2 way though See pics.

which would keep it out of the way of that collar
that would do the trick ;)

that must be it, duncan, too big a ring is no good to anyone. need to cut down on all the bumming :gayfight:
not sure why its like that? could be different between the 2 and 4 way intrax?
ordering some 5mm spacers and longer bolts today, hopefully get them in time.
cheers chaps

think i know whats happening now. this is a picture of the front shocker from the info that intrax sent when i was enquiring about the k2's

the black ring thats catching my tyre is in a different place! on pic above its between the red helper spring and the coil itself. on mine its sitting below the coil resting on the red anodised height adjuster on the threaded part of the shock. asked my garage who fitted it and said its to prevent the coil rotating so as long as in contact with the coil can be placed either above or below it. they didn't assemble the shocks - thats how it came from intrax - so would assume it was correct.
will get it changed over, not sure if can get it done before trackdays this weekend, but maynot be weather for cups, but if it is still got the 19" set up i was going to sell that should work fine.

any pics of how the car looks with them on?
wonder if the standard shocks will foul the wheels too?

helper spring at top end of shock as in the smaller top pic from intrax, jim.
think it should be ok shimmy without smaller helper or spacer as seems to be plently of clearance from coil/red anodised height adjuster to the tyre wall. will see when i get it re-arranged.
just a shame i cant get it sorted for the weekend as was looking forward to trying it all out

right, got it sorted today, seems that intrax put a plastic spring mount on the red anodised plaform which sets the ride height of the front shocker. same as you get on the rear shock. from looking at pics of others intrax its not needed, and this was what was fouling the tyres. got it removed today and given me about 5mm more clearance than before. so as lawsy and all said my TD 18" et30 go on the front with no spacers needed :smt026
