About to buy a CSL (hopefully)

Guys,

Just awaiting financial approval from the wife but hopefully about to indulge in a CSL.

I've a question as to whether the extended warranty is something to go for as I'll track it a few times a year but I'm probably only going to keep it for 18 months max. I'll be using the car almost daily as I'm consolidating my E36 M3 track car (that doesnt work or get used at the moment) and everyday Ford into the CSL, so will be covering about 8000 miles a year.

Been in and driven a few CSLs over the years and always wanted one, just wondering once I've got it if I'll ever be able to part with it...?

i had a e36 M3 trackcar and an M5 and consolidated to a CSL last month and i'm delighted with the move.

I've seen your e36 and it's pretty special:drool: but you can't beat the CSL:thumbs:

How much will the warranty cost? I have one but i'm not sure if i'll extend it when it's up..

if you're tracking it and doing relatively big milage you may be best buying one at the cheaper end of the spectrum. that way you'll lose less in 18 months when you sell.

Looking at 45k mile ones in order to keep it under 60k at sale. But to be honest I just need to find the right car whatever the mileage and go for it and not worry about re-sale...

Didn't you blow the engine in the e36? did you fit a new one or what? i remember you made good power with the evo head on the 3.0:smokin:

as for the CSL, yes, you may as well buy a good one but a <45k one will be expensive. probably close to £26k where as a 55k one may be £22k and won't go below £20k whenever you sell

That was a BMW CSL day at oulton about 3-4 years ago I remember your car it was tidy,and you passed wopps RI CSL,cracking day

Is the service history of concern in terms of the dates or is it just a case of the right price?

I personally wouldn't be crazy about a near 3 year gap but presuming BMW confirm that this won't affect the warranty then it should be OK if you believe it to be genuine.

Are there MOT's during this gap to show the mileage?
