So, before you shuffle off, what are your top 5 "must own" cars (within realistic budget - i.e not a list of dream cars) and why ?

997 GT3 RS - driven one and now must have, great car
E60 M5 - had one and always regretted selling, ultimate daily
E92 M3 - Does everything very very well, had one will have another
Range rover vogue TDV8 - long journey, the only way to travel.

For me:

997 GT3 RS gen 2 3.8 - ultimate road and track icon
3.0 CSL - because they're so cool
LP 670 SV (OK, that one's pie in the sky but you never know) - for extravagant days!
Alfa Romeo 8C "Monza" (OK, another fantasy but................) - the ultimate Pre-War supercar
Lamborghini 400GT - something very different and not the stereo-typical 60's Grand Touring car

All provided I can keep the CSL and M3.;)

my current 5 car garage would be (excluding race cars)

Ascari A10 (special weekend jaunts & euro trips)

If it has to be a somewhat realistic list, then the F40 is ruled out I suppose, so:

Porsche 964 RS
Porsche 996 GT3 RS
Alpina E30 B6 3.5S
Alfa SZ
Merc 190E EvoII

And yes, I realise that 4 of those were built within about a 3 year period, but you could blame Performance Car when I was 14 for that.

If I had to select a car currently on sale, I'd be going either the 1M or Alpina B3 GT3 route. And I'd be keeping the CSL too

I'd have to go for,

Porsche GT3 997 4.0
Ferrari 430 Spyder
Lambirghini Gallardo SE
Porsche 1972 RS (white and red)
Porsche Cayenne diesel

:thumbs:Good taste. I had both of these and they were superb cars. Would have loved to have kept the Clio but was leaving the UK for the southern hemisphere at the time so it had to go..:bigcry:

I ended up coming home earlier than expected so the missus is now wearing the balance of funds from the car on her left hand (a daily reminder :banghead:) but a fair swap! :smt055

a clio williams for a wedding ring you need to get your priorities right :hahaha:

Sensible list:

E30 M3
E39/60 M5
Porsche 997 GT3 (white with big fuck-off wing)
E82 1M
Ginetta G50 track car

And with the spare change: Mercedes CLK DTM or Ascari A10...

niall1

.. going for either a williams or dc2. which did you prefer?

Hard to choose. I'd probably pick the Williams to keep and the DC2 to own and sell.

The DC2 was typical Honda and the 9,000rpm red line was addictive but the Clio with a strut brace and few suspension tweeks would cock it's rear wheel in a way that made you smile at every roundabout. Of course if you changed your mind it would spit you out backwards in 205 style.

I was about to make a thread like this but it would have been called something like:

Cars made in the last 25 years that you wish you could keep/own
(sensible price range)

I have something like

BMW E60 M5 (the v10 engine)
360 Challenge Stradale (noise)
GT3 RS 4.0
BMW e82 1M
Maserati Granturismo S
Lamborghini Countach
Subaru WRX STi 22B or 2006 model (modded with big turbo, open wastegate)
BMW M3 CSL (obvious)
Porsche 935 Turbo/wideboby
Nissan R35 GTR
Aston Marton V8 Vantage (pretty cheap and great V8 sound)
C63 AMG
