Just curious if, and how, anybody has used iPhone for their track vids? Thanks. And before anyone says no not the passenger :clown:

Cant see them allowing that tbh Wheels.
Abroad it seems they dont give a shit, because lets be fair, how many on track crashes are actually caused by a suction mount camera flying off mid corner and knocking the drive unconscious:banghead:
But in our elf n safety fuckwit country it seems you cant do anything nowadays.

That's exactly why I got full face helmet to protect me from camera mount!
Could we not glue them or something?

Glue what, the scrutineers to their seats. :hahaha:
Have you got a normal camera? If so I could make a mount that mounts to an original bolt hole in your csl.

I've got an iPhone cradle that screws into a normal camera screw thread mount found on all camera bases and used by the standard dogcam clamps.
I'll send over details when back in Blighty

You can take it even further.
There is an app called Harry's Laptimer (http://gps-laptimer.de/Home.html), which uses the iPhone's gizmos to record a video overlay of track layout, speed, 'G-forces' etc. It looks like a really fun thing to play with.
If you use the iphone to record the lap, you get this:

It gets better, though. Using a piece of software called Dashware (http://www.dashware.net/), you can overlay the data recording the iphone made onto another video (like a GoPro):

Another video shows how an iphone can be used to record the action. In this case, it is turned round in its mount and captures the the'ego' shot. When combined with other cameras, the effect is pretty cool:

I should point out that I haven't tried all this out yet, but I will come the next trackday.
