Hello
I have some troubles electronics with my CSL.

Symptomes are the following ones:

When the mode m track is engaged and when back wheels skate a lot, the engine cuts 2 seconds and restart, all the dashboard flashes and the mode sport and m track cuts themself.

It arrived twice the last time at the ring, but the requests are extrems. i thought it was almost normal...(but surprise!)

This morning, having skated in mode Mtrack, the car and engine also cut without restart, but just after stop and turn key contact. Not cool in traffic with other car! it happened a second time but not with m-track...sure, this time something wrong in the soft, or a bad information from a captor.

I think about faillure from sensors ABS, because I know that it is a weak point on E46.

Somebodies would have had similar problems ?and if yes what were the causes?

thanks

problem maybe found with the BMW diag, the temperatur sensor of the gearbox is dead! will see results after change...
i knew abs sensor was "often" deficient on E46, but what about other sensor...often out of order?

hum, hope that's the problem and not anything else, keep us informed, never got any feedback on that sort of problem :banghead:

You should have fault codes logged on the ECU so that will be the best place to start - i guess you already have going by the fact you know that the gearbox temperature sensor is broken?

Keep us informed and good luck :)

results of investigation...

no problems now, it wasn't the temperature sensor the failure, but something more simple...

The threads of the sensor cut themselves for a reason i ignore, what engendered electronique and engine cuts when they contacted. Later the car was in degraded mode and the lid of the carbon air box did not open. any more now it is repaired wit just refixed th two threads.

Good to see you got her fixed.

Its always the wee things that cause the biggest problems.

Bloody sensors :moan:
